Quote: dreadlocks previously said: the basic reason why a restaurant in the DR cannot be counted on to make money is the margins. you buy chicken for 38 pesos per lb, and you end up selling a plato del dia for 90 pesos. factor into each dish the sides, the cooking gas, or charcoal, or lena, the rent, the light, the salaries, and you are lucky not to lose. you buy a beer for 27 pesos, and sell it for 45. in the USA, youbuy a beer for a dollar, you can sell it for 3, without a squawk from the customers. without massive volumes, certain businesses cannot work in the DR. restaurants are one of them. How much does it cost to make a pizza - sell for 220? Or 1/2 lb prawns sell for 450? S. |

IMO, clothes shops/boutiques in this country which operate more than 9 months are either money laundering businesses or a costly hobby for some high shot's / gringo's wife/mistress/chula/novia/sankiette.http://www.power4game.com/ Little sense/help in Wehaitiano's post, BTW... m'frog Edited on 11/11/2010 1:44 AM by zhanghuxyz. |
