I am happy there is a gay movement in the DR letting itsself be seen. Its time Dominican society changes their attitude towards gays. Too much bashing, molesting and even public oppression prevails in DR society.

Gay rights are a political theme and so this thread has all the rights of the world to be posted on this website.

I don't really comprehend why anyone would get their panties in a wad. There are loads of threads on here that are in no way political. Informational topics and/or pure entertainment.. Joke threads about M. Jackson, discussions on why DR women/men are sexy, blah blah blah (and I've read through most of those). So if the guy wants to put out an informational thread to other potential readers who cares. A lot of people apart from the regular posters read these items. When I'm not interested in the thread I just click off and go to the next....but then I don't really care who or what other people do, kiss, hold hands with or or even write as long as they're not bothering me.

you have a valid point and i agree with the voice of reason here. i know that i may have gotten a little too zealous here. at the same time whenever somebody has an opinion they are labeled homophobic which im not understanding. as far as what gays do you are right who really cares i agree. you can look stare an do whatever just don't touch. i have never had any problems with gays at all and thats the truth and the ones that i know show the utmost respect.

Calm down people its not the end of the world. Its business as usual. By the way a lot of these "gay" clubs are owned by STRAIGHT people..who would have thought?? Well obviously someone who's out to make a quick buck or two!! The DR is becoming a very sexually diverse society and gays are playing a bigger role everyday(by the way, many famous politicians and businessmen are gay but I won't name names..lol) What the DR needs is more respect for every one starting with Dominicans. Its this lack of respect(self respect) that has our society rotten to the core. Prostitution, corruption and child abuse, all of which we are famous for can be attributed lack of respect. So lets respect more and care less who the hell is doing whom..Chismosos.

I think what Mirabal meant to say that Eriliza is that DT blogs are always going in a different direction than what its designed purpose. I do believe that this movement in DR is for the better so i agree that i should be posted here as it concerns Dominicans; But you're also being a little too rough on Mirabal

Great posting Eriliza

Mirabal DR society does need to change, and for the better i mean. We have done great, considering from our

1. 300 year retarted membership in the Spanish Empire (1492-1821)
2. A century and half of war and occupation by the haitians, French and Americans (1804-1965)
3. Caudillos and political instability.

Now we must develp socially.
