It looks like it is a very clean, small city that appears to be well managed by the local municipal authorities. I have never been to SJM but I will make it a point to visit the next opportunity I get. Thank You so much for your contribution. I personally prefer the small town atmosphere like SJM better then the glitter, sheen, hussle and bussle of the big city, It looks like my kind of place. I apologize, for the comment, but if there is one thing that I don't like about people, places and things and it is about those that atempt to be or want to be something they are not. That castle like structure featured in one of the photographs, if it is meant to be a private residence, it is very tacky. To me it is an eye sore that made no positive contribution to the location. That is why many places have laws against constructing buildings that clash with the surrounding arquitecture. Who ever the owner, he must have been a small town boy that hit it big and came back to build his dream house. He is a wanna be king of the land. Feel sorry for the guy. He is no doubt defficient in some areas of his personal life or himselfs and wants to over compensate by constructing a Mccastle. He sure does have an over exaggerated ego. Nevertheless, I will give him credit for the achievement and for doing what he probably always wanted to do all of his life. Edited on 6/30/2010 3:59 PM by guillermone. |

Correct , I like your point about big-city- vs small town atmosphere, and I also prefer small cities or town like this then Santiago or the capital, it's just a wonderful place, very unique of the south. and yes it is very efficiently managed by the municipality to the point that most of its sectors receive 24/7 energy and about the castle I really think its an exaggeration by who ever built it, but in the positive sense is very unique to its surrounding creating a medieval like feeling I guess... SJM is a very nice place in our region, we could compare it to Constanza or Jarabacoa in some sense very enjoyable weather the whole year long and refreshing forest summer like Edited on 7/3/2010 3:31 PM by tschotschua. I have always love the weather in that whole area very enjoyable and pleasant. "People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs" |
