Founder Alberto Jesus Sanchez came to the Dominican Republic with a mission to help young children and adults learn American English. Our Academy suffered a great loss May 10th 2009 when someone broke into the school and stole an inverter with 6 batteries, 5 Dell computers and monitors, a HP laser printer and a Cannon Digital camera. This loss has caused the school a great setback.

Today, I am asking for your help. Anything you can help us with would be greatly appreciated. I came to the Dominican Republic to teach, to make a difference in young people’s lives and I am not going to give up just because someone stole our equipment.

Thank you for the information Popon, very interesting, English teaching institution just do that, teach English, but this "Profe" wanted to teach young children about respect, basic manners, proper hygiene, history, geography, math, and computer skills. All that implies a lot interaction with them and in USA is common knowledge that those 'so very interested' in helping children, should be watched carefully because usually they 'help' themselves to the young.

And how somebody that uses his language could teach children about respect and basic manners? How do teach other something you know nothing about?

Africana what you say is preposterous. It is quite obvious that you never set foot in the DR. And you Africana are one of precisely the same people who are responsible for causing confusing and spreading misinformation about the Dominican/Haitian conflict. Africana I am sorry but you are ignorant about our history and culture. The problem Dominicans have had with Haitians is not because they are black, it is because they are Haitian. Haiti has been an agresor nation against the DR all throughout our history and before the birth of our nation. They have militarily invaded us dozens of times. They committed genocide against the Dominican people. The were heartless and committed atrocities similar to what Hitler did to the jews against innocent women and children. Haitians deliberately and systematically attempted to completely destroy everything Dominican and anything white and Spanish. They wanted the total elimination of our ethnic, racial, religious, and cutlural identity. Then people wonder why in the world Dominicans are so defensive, suspicious and leery about our present day massive influx of destitute Haitians in Dominican territory.

Listen my friend if you want to go to the Bahamas, go right ahead, so that you can see for yourself that Bahamians are not fond of Haitians either.
