here is my take. if i were going on vacation, to a fantastic tropical destination, i really would not even think about what i was going to eat on the flight. my only concern would be to land safely. once on the ground, i could partake of all the gourmet meals in the hotel. i guess i am just strange.

Actually, I am just like you.......I worry about the food when I arrive....I don't worry about airline's food at all.....I don't care about that crappy stuff.......even when it was free I didn't eat it......

Your first worry when you land is where is the nearest gas station so you could get a cervesita to go

Somewhat tough to do an 8 - 10 hour flight without food - still some people manage it.

Just pack a few granola bars and purchase a bottled drink at the airport. You will be ok abc without airline food

Granola bars - please no - pack rice and beans and maybe a little chicken in a little pouch with some ice cubes. They could have a self-service microwave to heat it up.
