What are my best options, I can't locate any flights. Any help would be appreciated. |

The two Miami area airports have many flights to Santiago and SD... I would avoid NYC airports during the holidays, it is like a zoo and a snow storm can ruin your plans... Check orbitz... Delta has some connecting flights via Atlanta I think that US airways has connecting flights to PUJ in N. Carolina or PA, I can remember. Enjoy a frosty Presidente as soon as you get out of the airport Edited on 11/18/2010 5:04 PM by xwill7. |

I think that you will spend less than 1,500 pesos each way... I love driving in DR so I would rent an SUV |

The disadvantage to that is the frequency of flights might not match the schedule. However, there are regular and frequent flights to Santo Dominigo. Best bet would be to contact the airport in Punta Cana and get information directly from them. You will never find that information on Orbitz or on any US web site. You can also contact your hotel and ask to speak with the concierge, he/she might be of some help. The simplest most easiet is to rent a vehicle, preferably an SUV. It will be entertaining. If you take a flight and have to make conections, you will probably get there at the same time as if were driving, but much with greater freedom. Edited on 11/22/2010 12:32 AM by guillermone. |

However, in this case he is in the DR on a short business trip and probably pressed for time. There is no room for error, everything has to function like clockwork. He can not afford to get lost, have an accident or simply break down on the road. In fact I think the best bet is to directly contract a car for hire. There are plenty of good deals out there. Then again once they find out he is a tourist, they will try to squeeze out as much cash as possible. My friend it is a tough call and I don't know what to think now. So guess maybe the SUV rental/ drive it yourself might be the best idea after all is said and done. |

The days are quite short now so a flight to Santo Domingo from Punta Cana then hire a car and driver for 7 hours to take you to Santiago. Santo Domingo is 4 hours from PC approx and Sntiago another 2 hours further. You would arrive at 10.15 at Santo Domingo and need to be back in Santo Domingo at 6. This would give2 hours for a meeting. Try and schedule your meeting at Santiago Airport or a hotel nearby. An associate of Take Off also does a limo service that is very good. S. |
