SANTO DOMINGO.- Comunidad Digna (dignified community) (CD) and the Education Ministry last Thursday conducted the "Course-Workshop on methodology of Alphabetization of Adults" whose objective is to eradicate illiteracy in the entire country.
The course-workshop was held in the National Institute of Agrarian Formation and Social (INFAS) and counted on participated it in 200 promoters of Worthy Community.
CD director, Juana Sanchez was represented in the course-factory by the CD’s manager for training, Rhina de los Santos, who explained that the course-workshop aims to alphabetize 4,000 people for December, 2006.
She said that promoters took part in the training in the country’s provinces and the National District, and each will be responsible for 10 people.
Addressed among the course-workshop’s contents were the different situations in the learning process of adults and the most frequent difficulties for adults in reading and writing, with examples given on how they are solved.
The course-workshop began with general directions on the integration of the Government agencies and civil society organizations to the alphabetization programs, within the concept of network alphabetization.
In the event also participated the head of the Education Ministry’s Young and Adults Education directorate, Susana Michel and the National Technician, Yolys Madera, among othes.
