SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Government today apologized to the reporter Adolfo Salomón, who was fired from his job alter the Armed Forces minister Ramon Aquino sent a “letter censure" to the TV station Color Vision, for a question asked to the cardinal Nicolás López Rodríguez, and also affirmed that it respects the freedom of the press.
The Presidency’s press director Rafael Núñez provided the information via a telephone call to the Z-101 FM morning radio program, and offered to mediate between Color Vision’s ejectives and Salomón.
"I could even go with Adolfo Salomón to the ejectives Color Vision for us in some way be present to talk with the ejectives Color Visión and say that it has been a misunderstanding in that regard, because we as the Government can neither have censuring as a practice nor hinder the freedom of the press," he said.
The official said that general Aquino was ill-advised by someone who recommended that he send the setter to Color Vision.
Nuñez added that he spoke with the Armed Forces minister this morning and that he admitted that he had been "badly advised " to send the setter.

It goes without saying that the subjectreporter's "human Rights" and freedom of the press have been violated by these acts of authorities and employers.
