SANTO DOMINGO.- So far only 79 Government officials have compiled with the sworn statement of their assets as established by decree 287-06 issued on July 17 this year, attitude which is leads to the belief that, “they are trying to hide something.”
National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission president Jose Joaquin Bidó, formulated the complaint, who urged the officials to adhere to this duty. "Let us not lose the moral authority of demanding from the nation demands that which we don t practice by example," Bidó said, pointing out that the law begins at home.
After expressing his concern for the attitude of the officials, he said that the officials should submit their sworn statement by using the new uniform automated system, available in the website www.dpca.gov.do
The resistance to submit oneself to the rule of the referred norms of ethics and public morals, obviously could be interpreted in the sense that they are trying to hide something," Bidó added.
