SANTO DOMINGO.- The general secretary of the governing PLD party feels that a new Central Electoral Board should result from a wide-ranging consultation with the Dominican civil society’s diverse sectors.
Reinaldo Pared –who joins Justice minister and Santiago province Senator-elect Francisco Dominguez’s efforts in that regard- sated that the Electoral court must be completely integrated by personalities who are recommended by the different sectors of the national life.
"It’s necessary to choose people who are not questioned," said the National District’s Senator-elect, stressing that the new Central Electoral Board must work arduously internally, to punt an end to the doubts which arise during electoral processes, including last May’s midterm elections.
He clarified, nevertheless, that the organism does not have to be completely dismantled since the experience of many of its officials and employees must be taken advantage of.
Interviewed on CDN, Channel 37, Pared added that the reform of the Dominican Constitution which the Government supports must be to adapted to the new times.
