Santo Domingo.- The United States Senate confirmed P. Robert Fannin as the new ambassador in the Dominican Republic, in its session held Friday. The information is posted in the Senate’s Web site.
Fannin replaces Hans Hertell, who concluded his functions in February and business attaché Roland Bullen head the Embassy since.
President George W. Bush announced Fannin’s nomination on January 4 and sent it to the Senate on the 10th of that same month. The Senate Foreign Relations commission had recommended the confirmation on September 25.
Fannin, a graduate of Stanford University, is a partner in the Phoenix, Arizona law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP and member of the state’s industry regulatory agency.

I hope that the US-DR relations grow even more during your tenure there.
