SANTO DOMINGO.- A low pressure system approaching from the Leeward islands has prompted the authorities to issue green alerts for nine provinces where it forecasts heavy showers today.
The warning include Santiago, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Salcedo, Duarte (in special the Lower Yuna river basin), Maria Trinidad Sanchez, La Vega, Monte Plata and Monseñor Noel.
The "area of disturbance" is located east of Puerto Rico and, according to its trajectory, can reach the country’s east coast today, said Gloria Ceballos Meteorology Office director last night.
Although the hurricane season ended November 30, there are conditions for the phenomenon to become a tropical depression and even a tropical storm today, Ceballos said from the Emergencies Operations Center (COE).

you can find real time information and satellite images for D.R.
Basically is focused on Punta Cana, but it can be used for the Dominican Republic, climate and earthquake advisory as well.
Thank you,

If the Storm is moving 20 miles per hour, than we have 21 hours before full impact of heavy rain, if it continue as it goes, strength, direction and speed.
It is not a Storm yet, but can form one.
Last Satellite in 8:48 EST shows that the pressure center is above Porto Rico. If it cointinues with the same direction, Samana, Nagua, Sosoa, Cabarete, Puerto Plata advisory (North)
Thank you,
