Santo Domingo.- Robert Fannin, the recently-designated United States ambassador in Dominican Republic, arrived in the country on Thursday to take possession of the post, vacant since January, according to the newspaper Diario Libre.
The Foreign Relations Ministry said Fannin, an attorney based in Arizona, would arrive at Santo Domingo on a private flight to present his credentials as the U.S. ambassador before president Leonel Fernandez.
Quoting a source, Diario Libre said Fannin will hold a press conference at an unspecified date to present his plans and projects relating to the relations between both nations.
