New cops? Improvised cops? I hope they're not in the street to try to get their "paga de navidad".

Multiple gunshots were heard early evening yesterday 12/20/07 as school kids played @ Calle A Transversal in Ensanche Caonabo (Los Platanitos) barrio near Cibao Stadium & Children's Hospital.

A drug dealer of the Pichardo brothers gang that goes by the street name of CHOPPO went on a shooting rampage. He is a main career drug criminal in Santiago with a long criminal history but has had limited prison time. Choppo was angry about a drug deal but the only victims of this gun crime were innocent by-standers, a young teenage boy who was shot in the stomach but now in critical condition. Another 14 year old girl name Jennifer suffer a near miss of a bullet and was frighten & ran home crying to escape the spray of bullets from Choppo.

Both the Santiago police & DNCD were notified but neither showed up. The police refused to come without payment to match $ gained from Tigres. Both agencies are familiar with the criminal but get payoffs not to enforce the law! This is the real RD!

You Know its Dominicans like you DaniDR that never let this country progess, always negative, always complaining but yet never have a solution to the problem. You and people like you, sound like true latin american politicians. DR is not going to be corrupt forever, as long as people contribute to society in positive ways this can happen. Dominicans have the ablity to do great and beautiful things, comments like yours makes us sound like savages from a backward country with no morals. And hell if you can do a better job then why dont you be a good dominican and volunteer yourself to the National Police and train the anti-corruption department on training new police officers on how to fight corruption within and outside the ranks. If your not willing to fix the problem, then stand aside and be quiet and let others do it instead. Dominican Society doesnt have room for ignorant non progressive individuals, people like that have been dragging this nation for to long...

Hatuey, I may sound negative, sometimes I am, specially when I have a rough day when I really only experience negative things. You are in part right, I'm not putting a solution to any of the problems directly, just commenting on them and maybe even advancing the negative effect, when, in some case the results can be good. I'm also not Dominican, so it's quite hard for me to do something, and I also don't have a strong character.

I try to help in what I can. What kind of things do I help?, well, I work hard in my company, help the employees of the company when I can, I also have two sites showing the beauty of the country (http://www.inagotable.com and http://www.emotiondr.com ), and I'm one of the main programmers that makes DominicanToday.com possible.

Plus, sometimes my negative comments give space to better comments of other posters, which I enjoy very much, like yours!

Happy x-mas!

Dear Mr Hatuey,

You Said:

You Said:

Unfortunately you wrong. Dominicans are uncivilized down to the core. Where else in the world would a motorcycle hit you in the rear end, the driver has no license, no insurance and drives to the police station the next day on another motorcycle and YOU be forced to pay the man?

Kids who try to get ahead want to be baseball players and Polititians although the polititians make out better.

Face the facts, we live in a morally corrupt nation down to the core.
