SANTO DOMINGO.- Dominicans began their yearly Christmas exodus to different parts of the country to celebrate with relatives and friends.

Suitcases in hand or backpacks at the shoulder, hundreds of people are going to the interurban bus stops where they had to make long lines before boarding the vehicle that will take them to the traditional gathering.

Some bus terminals had to triple their fleet to meet the high demand, as some passengers complain fare gouging as high as 20 pesos.

The holiday spirit felt is also being felt in shopping, which has become a frenzy in the last few days has, according to the retailers themselves.

Por mas que la gente o diga de nuestro presidente o de las cosas que pasan en nuestro pais sigue siendo el mejor pais de la vida. Com yo desaria estar en mi pais un dia como hoy. Bebiendo Brugal y bailando un perico ripiao. Feliz Navidad mi gente y que este ano nuevo nos traiga prosperidad a nuestro pais.
