SANTO DOMINGO.- A Labor Ministry, Pontifical Catholic University and the International of Labor Office study found that most of Dominicans don’t view child labor as an important social problem; whereas 60% don’t know the laws and norms that prohibit that type of work in the country.

The study, “Perception of Dominican Society on Child Labor” -with 1,500 homes surveyed- says 68% of Dominicans realize that work by minors prevents or limits them from performing well in school and admit it contributes to repeat courses and school raise dropout rates.

But this child labor is for most of that 68% the only way to get some food on the table.
Not the most favored way,but just a way to survive.
