It is very interesting how an Mr. Rodirguez only finds it convenient at times, to recognize his Dominican heritage. Yet he chose to play for the US instead of Dominican Repbublic in the Baseball World Classic. Things that make you go?

Isnt this the same Alex that denied his Dominican people? Pero que lambon es el gobierno dominicano. Since he believes he is a pure american he should not receive the award.

I hear you Jackson. Pero nada, pa'lante. He's dominican and that's all that matters. I'm glad he is representing. He's in NY, he was born in the Heights, he can't deny it. Damn it feels good to be Dominican!!

How is he representing Dominicans when he denied us? He doesn't deserve a thing except a swift kick in the behind from his Dominican family.
I was born & raised in Brooklyn around Puerto Ricans & Blacks, the only Dominican family in the neighborhood. I never onced denied where my family comes from. Love my family in the states, in the DR & have a daughter that is 8 yrs. old. She is half Black & Dominican and loves going to DR for the entire summer. Fluent in Spanish & English.

How in the world did Alex "deny us"? Get your facts straight! He was born in the United States and was raised in the United States, so yes, he IS an American! BUT he maintained his Dominican heritage, speaks better Spanish than most others who were born in the US, and has never ONCE failed to say in interviews that he proudly comes from the DR. He is a GREAT inspiration for everyone from the DR and the world. Anyone who denys this is just jealous of his success, which is sad. Let him enjoy it.

yeah Maureen but your daughter is also AMERICAN just like Alex and she'll have to represent her other heritage sooner or later just like Alex was forced to do it. Besides, Alex is gaining nothing by saying that he is proud of his Dominican heritage and yet, he still does it.

Myparents were born in the rich carribean island of Cuba and Puerto Rico, I was born in Brooklyn, NY. That makes me American with Cuban and Puerto Rican heritage. I find it very phoney and ungrateful to come to America or be born here take the goods, and be disloyal to America. Alex is a great home run hitter, a New Yorker and a Miami man with rich heritage from the Domincan Republic. Is it fair to come to America, gain tremendous success and then just represent your parent´s homeland?
