Santo Domingo.- The National District Prosecutor’s Office plans to apply for coercion measures against a German national in custody, who was sought for human trafficking of illegal immigrants, following the discovery that the accused recruited 12 Haitians to work as prostitutes, and selling pornographic footage on the internet.

Lutz Robert Gunther Meyerding is being held in the Prosecutor’s Office cells.

Meyerding decided to hand himself over to the authorities on the advice of his lawyers. The Haitian women were discovered during a raid on his apartments in which the police dismantled the equipment.

The prosecutors investigating the case are Francisco José Polanco, Luis Alberto González, Iván Feliz and Adolfo Feliz, who raided three apartments that were being used for illegal purposes: 601 y 602-D No. 58, César Nicolás Penson Avenue, and apartment 2-A of a building on Bolívar Avenue, in the capital.

The suspect allegedly made the women act in pornographic scenes that were filmed for sale via an Internet website.
