Santo Domingo.- The Executive Branch’s Legal adviser said today president Leonel Fernandez didn’t know the government contractor Nelson Solano was linked to alleged drug trafficking in the United States. "President Fernandez was warned when the U.S. Department of Justice requested him in extradition, which supposes that neither his condition nor information were registered here on the matter," said Cesar Pina Toribio.
On Wednesday the opposition PRD party, showing several photos with Fernandez next to Solano, challenged the chief executive to explain his alleged links to the suspect, extradited to the U.S. on April 21, 2006, accused of heroin traffic in that country.
Pina said it was Fernandez himself who signed the Solana’s extradition order. "When the Supreme Court considered that the conditions were given to justify the extradition of the accused, it sent it to the Executive Branch, which is the instance that has the last word, as established by Law," the Legal adviser said.

I read other countries newspapers to see what is being printed in papers from around the world, and pay particular attention to what they say about Canada. Our politians are as corrupt as any. Corruption comes in many forms and no government is exempt from the grasp of the forms that come with power. No matter how good the intention of a politition, the first thing they forget is that they are there to serve the people' This leads them to resist remembering the promises they made to get there, regardless of who reminds them.
