Edward Mayobanex Rodríguez Montero

NEW YORK.- The U.S. Department of Justice in Washington is preparing the request to extradite the Dominican Navy and other military officers and several civilians implicated in the executions of seven Colombians in Paya, Baní (south), said a Dominican embassy source quoted by newspaper El Nuevodiario.

Although they didn’t specify which state would make the request, they affirmed that the Office of the Federal Prosecutor awaits only for the Grand Jury to conclude revising the evidence it presented against the ex lieutenant Edward Mayobanex Rodriguez Montero, whom the Dominican authorities allege is the mastermind of the murders.

However, the source said they could be extradited to New York and San Juan; cities they say are reached by the tentacles of the ring of narcotics trafficking and assassins in uniforms and civilians, and where thousands of kilos of cocaine and heroin have been shipped to and where they have important partners in organized crime.

Yesterday the Dominican press reported that two men posing as police officers entered Police headquarters with the clear intention to kill Rodriguez in his jail cell to silence him, because it’s believed that other high ranking officers and even political figures are involved in the organization.

The ex officer’s lawyer Victor Manuel Marte and his relatives affirm that he was always willing to turn himself in, but didn’t do so from fear of being assassinated while in custody.

Rodriguez was arrested in the airport at Puerto Plata while trying to take a flight out of the Caribbean country.

Hey,

Let the good times roll! I am lovin' it! Finally, only a ray-of-hope (justice).

I'VE watched authorities engaged in drug trafficking 4 years without legal recourse. Years ago I many new readers assumed I was making this stuff up. It even took me time to understand the RD corruption system becuz U do NOT know the "good guys from the bad guys". As it reads;

"police officers entered headquarters with the clear intention to kill Rodriguez in his jail cell to silence him, because OTHER HIGH RANKING OFFICERS & even POLITICAL FIGURES are involved in the organization".

It has been so hard to watch RD police & DNCD Norte only "pretending" to do their jobs as entire drug networks have act as regional distributors from my barrio of Los Platanitos (Ensanche Caonabo) led by the Pichardo brothers (Choppo & Chino) who's "UNTOUCHABLE".

It was so sickening to see the US Ambassador(s) so "APATHETIC" and US DEA & FBI "CLUELESS".

This is getting to be like how it must have been to live in the Wild West in the US in the early 1800's.

where are the whiners defending Dominican Courts and Justice no extradition of our patriots to the evil empire....Our wonderful uncorrupt justice is good enough for them ...What do you think they will to be able to bribe their way out of it

GC, you can talk sovereignty all you want, but when Uncle Sam says he wants somebody extradited for drugs, you best have him on the plane post haste. the USA views drug activity as a hostile act. it is not as though you smuggled in too many bags of Cafe Santodomingo in your carry on bag. this is serious business. so guys, read the list carefully, and have them bathed and dressed to make the flight, and forget all the blather about bullying from big brother. them's the realities of geopolitics.

By the way, whatever happened to Quirino? The fate of the man that could have this administration and the previous one extradited is still unheard of.

So if they ship those dudes, is it also gonna be all hush hush?

Whatever happened to transparency?

Quirino is cooling his heels in a federal lockup, awaiting disposition of his case. if it goes to trial , he is looking at 35 to life. he might cop a plea, get 30 years, with time served, and be out in 25.
