SANTO DOMINGO.- Hundreds of people marched yesterday against domestic violence in an activity organized by the Justice Ministry, with the motto "Zero Tolerance towards Violence against Women."

The walk started began near 4 p.m. from the capital’s Mirador park and concluded in front  the Palace of Justice, in the Centro de los Heroes.

The minister of the Woman Alejandrina Germa'n stressed the importance of working for the equality between men and women to reach society’s integral development, whereas Roxanna Reyes, Assistant prosecutor for Woman topics, said the march is important because it aims to draw attention to the problem.

For his part, Justice minister Radhamés Jiménez among the advances in the fight against domestic violence is the creation of 14 assistance centers at the national level.

Environment minister Jaime David Fernandez, Police chief Rafael Guzmán, among other officials also participated, although organizations who work in favor of woman weren’t present.

on a serious note a serious subject that requires men to look within themselves and teach their children proper behavior

Parents teach their Children by example, If this sort of improper behavior is to be eradicated then one must start in the home, this is another example of a break down of moral teaching in the home BOTH Parents need to take responsibility in the proper raising of their Children. Remember the good ol days when Men were Men and Woman were proud of it, All society needs MEN to teach there Children to respect WOMEN for we all have Mothers, Grandmothers, Wifes, Sisters, Aunts and Girlfriends. Real Mothers also need to teach their Daughters to respect them selfs. As a parent my self I've had to deal with all sorts of issues like teach my Children right from wrong, one of the biggest problems is "DON'T LET SOCIETY DICTATE / RUN YOUR HOME" TAKE CHARGE Children are a gift from GOD [ we not own these Children, we are only temporary custodians ] teach them well, they will always come back to what there taught. Don't betray that SACRED TRUST we reap what we sole.

Gouletcolonial,
I hope and pray you are not right....I hope the powers that may be don't use this very important crises as some POLITICAL B--l S--t foot ball game....Has any body read the news lately about crime and so call Human rights Violations here in the United States....We are a crying shame to the World where moral corruption and a destruction of the Family runs ramped. Pretty soon we'll make science out this, write a book, become experts, be on the Opra Wildfre Show then to top it off WE'LL EXCUSE THE BEHAVIOR, by blaming it on our "GROWING UP SYNDROME" I can see it coming to your town / Country soon if you all not careful and you don't read the writing on the wall.
