Santo Domingo.– A little Dominican girl, two years old, who had been kidnapped earlier this week in the northeastern city of San Francisco de Macoris, was freed Saturday "safe and sound" by her captors, the Dominican police announced.
The case, which had upset the country, had a happy ending when the child was discovered alone and crying just after midnight at a fast-food restaurant in the northern city of Santiago, according to a police communique. "The little girl was taken there by a woman, who after buying some products, abandoned her in the play area," the report said.
According to the police, the kidnappers took the decision to free the girl due to the pressure from the officers, who had launched a wide-ranging search operation in Santiago and others in the northern part of the country.

You see now you we all miss josean after all the grief that we put him through,
he said good by with the famous Nixon remark when he was leaving the white house to reporters:
"Now you wont have me to kick around any more"
Josean: come back, all the pun is "business" we really love you.
this bud is for you!
LOL.
The streets of the RD are like the old west where there is limited law enforcement!
Credit should go to the public outcry which increased the pressure (however, the police can take credit if it makes them feel better and allows people to feel more secure that they are doing their job).
It is sad that the people in power to make changes & enforce laws (Prez LF) and bring International pressure (Robert Fannin) do NOT do a damn thing...
