BARAHONA. - Properties of the opposition PRSC party senator Noe Sterling Vásquez, his residence in this city among them, were searched Wednesday by agents looking for the assets of his son Martin Sterling Villalón, involved in the case of the August 5 killings of seven foreigners in Paya, Baní

Court of Appeals prosecutor Esteban Sanchez confirmed that Justice Ministry’s Anti-laundering Unit and the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) investigators searched the congressman’s house, located in the Malecon on Enriquillo avenue.

He said a boat allegedly owned by Sterling Villalón was confiscated in the Manatí yatch club, located on the beach in Villa Central.

The senator’s son was sent to eight months in prison pending the investigation but it wasn’t known if the searches were conducted in Sterling Vásquez’s presence.

R U familiar with concept three degrees of separation?

Many of these guys are indirectly guilty and benefit and gain wealth via drug traffic.

We all hear the Senatory from Bani speaking out about RD Gov corruption on drugs. But why do we NOT see Prez LF taking a position and others? Why does not the US Embassy and our Ambassador Fannin come out with strong position? Why is politics, posture, window dressing and dinner parties and back scratching more important than real grass root results?

Why are there thousands of drug houses and families allow to be going conerns & operation without interruption in the RD?

Why do kids in my barrio of Los Platanitos (Ensanche Caonabo) have to walk to school each day and resist free offers of drugs from Choppo Pichardo and his drug network in Santiago lead by his brother Chino Pichardo whereas they have accumulated wealth, arms and even built the biggest apartment building in the barrio?

What are Fannin & Prez LF waiting on?

Fannin, unfortunately,is unimportant in the prosecution of drugs and drug dealers in the DR. He is merely a visitor and as such can give advice if someone wants to listen to it. What is Fernandez waiting for is a valid question. We should not have to wait for outsiders to clean our house. Unfortunately with the payscale for the Police so deplorably low, it is understandable, (NOT CORRECT; MIND YOU, BUT UNDERSTANDABLE) that they are willing to be, and actively seek being, bribed.

JB, I appreciate UR input & sincere thanks 4 feedback.

But I disagree, Fannin is NOT just a visitor @ all inclusive resort but instead is a US Ambassador, a paid position by US tax payers to execute policy on behalf of our US President & Secretary of State.

Clearly, we got a US policy on int'l drug traffic crimes! We got an economic embargo against countries 4 lesser reasons (i.e. Cuba). I understand the Cuban embargo is becuz of communism (so, how do we explain trying to do all the business we can with China on behalf of Fortune 500 firms like GE)?

LEADERSHIP IS RESONSIBLE for "setting the tone" just as Obama is now doing for OUR nation. Fannin as our eyes, ears & face in the RD on behalf of the US Gov ...what tone is Fannin & his staff setting on behalf of Americans & the best interest of the US Gov?

People especially leaders who remain "silent" while injustices are done should share the burden of guilt (for new young addicts).

Old school politicians don't get it!
