SANTO DOMINGO. – In a surprising show of bravado the Government today said the groups of bus owners who cause chaos and abuse citizens won’t be assigned the new subway’s feeder routes.  He specifically mentioned the owners grouped in Fenatrano, who yesterday again left thousands of passengers stranded in a surprise stoppage.

The Presidency’s Chief of staff Cesar Pina said only those who guarantee order and respect to the system that is to be organized will be given participation in the Santo Domingo Metro, slated to start operations before year-end.

"Those who’re staging the acts of vandalism that we saw yesterday and threats of a social nature and making demands, leaning on evidently irresponsible political sectors cannot have the opportunity to repeat their actions to obstruct a project like this one, which aims to do exactly what I already said, a organized transport with efficiency and quality to benefit  the citizenship, precisely the sectors that most need it," he said referring to former president Hipolito Mejia’s visit to Fenatrano chief Juan Hubieres to offer his support.

In a press conference in his National Palace, the official also reiterated that those who are committed to disorder, chaos and sponsor vandalism “like what we saw yesterday (Tuesday) will be left out.”

“I’m talking about Fenatrano, which is not a union, it’s a business group," Pina said when the journalists pressed him to reveal the name of the group that’ll be excluded.

I would say it's about time that Fentrano, led by the infamous Juan Huberias, got it's walking papers from the govenment.
This group has been rattling their swoards and spitting in the face of the public and the government for yeaars. It has been obvious that they are nothing but a bunch of Mafiosas who, like their counterparts in the Drug Cartels, are interested only in the power they weild and in the monopolistic hold thaey have on theTransportation sector.
The Dominican Republic does not need them and they can be easily replaced with law-abiding people who will give the public they serve an even break with a minimum of fuss. The Fentrano Organization needs to be declared a subversive organization and forcefully disbanded.

If this is really what happens it will be the first of many steps needed to take control of our country back from these thugs and barbarians. And that will be a good thing.

This is a piece of really positive news, I just hope it's not lip service and they do as they say. If as in the past this creep resorts to violence to get his way he should be disposed of.........one way or another so that this country can progress.

Any organization that resorts to vilolence are borderline terrorists in my book.

And should be treated as such, if nothing else gathered up and held until they cool down.

The publics saftey should always come first.

Weenies.. The only thing you should do is put them in jail.

Mass transit is about the only area of expertise that most governments are good at. Re-assign all of the low lifes and sponsor routes with city owned busses and have the drivers be employees of the city. That would be one of the only ways to cut the leggs off of Juan Huberias. In the meantime he should be jailed for exciting the populace and condoning violence and vandelism.
