Too many scofflaws. too little space.

Santo Domingo,. – The more than 200 vehicles impounded by Traffic (AMET) police for driving with expired plates just in the last two days had nowhere to go, after the old greyhound track used to store them got full, forcing agents to write out only a fine.

“The weekend the vehicles without sticker were being seized and were returned when the fine was paid,” said greyhound track manager Santiago Garcia.

He said during the weekend, after the deadline to the renew plates concluded, a little more than 200 vehicles were taken to the track. “But this Monday we have received fewer vehicles.”

Garcia said because of the lack of space AMET agents will only ticket the drivers and not retain the cars, 714 of which were impounded in the last two weeks.

If the authorities keep pushing their luck by all these ARBITRARY and AUTOCRATIC measures they are going to find themselves in a popular riot situation where everybody will lose.
Remember:
" I am mad as hell and can't take it any more"
Chanted on many occasions the last two were April, 1965 - Death toll over 3,000 in a few weeks.
and April 1984 after signing with the IMF 400 plus dead in a week.

“The weekend the vehicles without sticker were being seized and were returned when the fine was paid,” said greyhound track manager Santiago Garcia.

Does that mean that once the bribe was paid, the offending motorists were free to leave? To whom were these "fines" paid?

ATTENTION ATTENTION. I apologize. I missed the whole point of the article at first. Here it is:

These jerks we call public officials couldn't plan beyond 200 violators. That is why there is no more space. They picked, to store the offenders, a place that only held 200 cars. Did they think that this was sufficient space? DID THEY THINK AT ALL?
