The first directors of Duartiano Institute in Japan

Zoom Picture

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican ambassador to Japan Jose del Carmen Ureña swore the first directors of the new subsidiary of the Duartiano Institute in Japan, whose aim is to carry out an ambitious plan in the Asian nation to promote national identity and the ideals of Dominican hero Juan Pablo Duarte.

The ceremony took place in Tokyo, with the attendance of dozens of Dominicans living in that country.

Dominican Ambassador Nene Ureña still has a lot of things to explain to public opinion about his involvement as president of the
disastrous Banco de Comercio failure and bankruptcy to the account holders.
Remember this bank was sold to Ramoncito Baez and was called "Baninter".
His nomination is rumored was due to political campaign debts and return favors.
We are waiting.

Vivan los Quisqueyanos. Hasta en Japon. Se la pusieron en la China, no Japon!
Great, my compatriots. Let's also mention the contributions that our people have made to the arts and entertainment: Billo's (Frometa) Caracas Boys, Chapesaux y Damiron, Maria Montez, Alberto Beltran, Joseito Mateo, Rafael Solano, Johnny Ventura, etc.
One name that will bring a big smile in Japan if mentioned will be Tito Rodriguez, 'El Inolvidable'.
Mention that he was not only born in Puerto Rico, but his father was a Dominican; I must also point out his mother was Cuban....Que pareja un Domincano y una Cubana con hijos Boricuas? Que te parece cholito? (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tito_Rodr%C3%ADguez)
Well, remind them also of Johnny Pacheco the co-founder of Fania; They love Latin Music; Who coined: Tres de Cafe y Dos de Azucar? Azucaaaa. Remember, La Orquesta de La Luz*Japanese, too. Don't forget to mention we have a proud Japanese colony in DR. Such as "Don" Mamoro Matsunaga.

You have became a bore. Why don't you get your own Haitian site for your antidomincan propaganda.
Dominicans are tired with your old ,clumsy and tired tirades. Now Haitian Dominicans like me are really beginning to get pissed off at your relentless attacks
You are just plain jealous and you are looking for a site to spit your envy.
Save the prozac
Go get laid
Get a life
See a shrink for your fixation wthe the Dominicans.

Hey guys, I am not jealous of DR. I am just making a point guys. You are to sensitive to criticism.

Happy Holidays.

Dominican women like Haitian men more than Domincan men. Why is that? Because Haitian men are more understanding and more caring. Don't be jealous of us.

Why Smitty ,It is nobody's fault if our country stands still and nothing functions.
Do not worry about Dominican identity crisis, worry about your country's food crisis, education crisis, spirituality crisis, health crisis ( RP spends millions of dollars to take care of your sicks and your pregnant women who cross the border avery day to give birth)
Your country is drowning in misery and each time the Dominicans ask u to grab their hands to save u,your overhelming vain nationalism and your stupid pride make u say instead "no u grab my hand"
"Dominican Embassador to Japan promotes national identity'What is that have to do with u?
You have a wicked way to mask Haiti's shortcomings by attacking the Dominicans who are trying to promote their country.
U can walk with reality or reality will drag u
Why don't u let the Dominicans lift u from your bootstraps instead of trying to pull them down.
The dog food u r eating it will make u lift your back leg to piss.
Get a grip chico !

etiennc01,

The truth hurts. I will continue to speak the truth. I am a tougher critic of the Haitian government than I am of the Dominican's.

As you know, there is something that no one can take away from the Haitians. On a scale of 1 to 100, Haitian pride scores 100. I don't know the score of the Dominican pride. Maybe a 55. A barely passing grade. Everything has been thrown at Haitians and they have survived the worst. Haitians are maybe the strongest and the proudest people on the face of this earth. Racist and jealous external forces constitute most of Haiti's problem. With the fast rising of people of Haitian descent in American politics as well as in Canada and France, we already have the solution for Haiti's problem. Whenever Haiti embraces aggressive reform, naughty foreign hands always intervene to reverse the progress. Just like in the case of Aristide, who was overthrown twice by foreign power. In Haitians' heart, Haiti is still #1.

Happy Holidays

I see you do not know many Dominicans personally for if you did you would realize that the vast majority of us are EXTREMELY proud to be Dominican or of Dominican descent. Do not speak for us and do not assume, either.

cibaeno75,
I've come to this conclusion not beacuse I want to insult Domincans. Haitians and Domincans get along extremely well, particularly in the United States. They intermarry. My ex-wife's mother is Dominican.

I have to question the pride of Domincans after reading this article about the promotion of "National Identity". I have to question why DR deports to Haiti not just Haitians, but dark skin Domincans as well? You have to admit that DR has an identity crisis. DR suffers with low self-esteem. DR has a pride problem. DR is still in search of "National Identity"

Happy Holidays

cibaeno75,
You claim I don't know Dominicans personally. Let me tell you something, I have visited DR about 10 times. I live in the best resorts (Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, etc..) that exist in DR, and I also live in residential neighborhoods. They were the best neighbors that one could ask for. One neighbor even traveled to Haiti with me for a week vacation. She was an outstanding Dominican in every respect.

Because I have money, Dominicans are quick to embrace me even when I tell them that I was born in Haiti. Due to the fact that I travel from the U.S. as an American, or I am a rich Haitian. Dominicans are quick to link themselves to Haitian ancestry in order to befriend you. Racism in DR is also interlinked with classism.

When I am done with writing my book "The Truth About Dominican Republic and Haiti", you will be able to understand me fully.

Happy Holiday

Sir, that is your opnion and nothing more. And in my humble opinion you are the one that seems to have a problem with Dr's "national identity" as your posts clearly indicate. That's your problem, though, and not ours. Happy holidays.

I don't need to read any of your diatribes to understand anything, particularly when it comes to my people. You're in no position to tell me anything about my people and frankly I find it absurd that you feel yourself to be in a position to do so. All you know is the truth according to you. It's interesting that you noted that you were treated well in DR but yet here you are attempting to defame the very people who supposedly gave you the star treatment. Interesting indeed. Here's a suggestion: If you have such problems with the Dominican people and/or their society then do not return. I can assure you that you will not be missed.
