It is very difficult to make advances while facing a blockade from a nation such as the U.S. and the Cubans had successfully live under such conditions. They had paid a very high price for their ideals and formed of government. I don't agree with any political system but thats has been a battle between two political systems of ideas to govern people. For the Cuban people they had been force to accept it without given them a choice of selections which is the fear of the present Cuban government -- people must be free to determine their own destiny. Having said this, they had also made advances in other areas that had surpassed many of the Latin American countries and if they were not to had such an embargo Cuba will had been the best political example on this planet. I believe this to be the U.S greatest fear == the success of the Cuban model -- for Latin American to followed.

What everyone in this planet must do is to take all the books which claimed to inspired knowledge and burned them or throw them out the windows. What a dilemma, men/women have no thoughts of their own and no originality cause everything is a product of some some " God ". Humanity has no choices cause everything is preordained and he claims his laws to be either inspired or taken directly from " Gods " laws. A being that lives with nothing of his own, no purposes and no meanings. So, what is life to men/women? To live for forgiveness of being a life with no rights as an existence cause your life don't belongs to you. First it belongs to the state even if in your thoughts or faith you claimed that it does not, and then after you die it belongs in hell or in heaven. As a living being you ate left with no choices but the illusions that you yourself create about choices. You live among other beings that are embracing the same cause of being of the same specie. Still the facts are that humanity is the victim of its own creations, of its own actions, a criminal in the making with the laws of the stronger..............

Thousands of Cubans have died in front of Castro's infamous firing squad. There was no discrimination, as far as the firing squad was concerned. Young and old, black and white, rich and poor were sent to 'el paredón' (the wall).

So true.....Novelas in all of Latin America are classic examples. Another example, years back i was on Vacation in Mexico with my wife and kids and had waited until the last couple days to go gift shopping for Family and Friends back home and was shocked by the way the local Business, Stores and shoppes treated the Native Peoples I was shocked, needless to say I never spent so much money on gifts all bought from the local Natives at a much lower price anyway

The logic of all this anti Cuba tirade could be applied to many other nations that may be worse. e.g. Burma. Like many nations Cuba is good at some things, less good at others. The basis of peace is not to set up a World dictatorship but recognise that nations generally have a right to exist. There are limits - genocide, incursions into other countries where the international community should and must intervene. However the signs are that the areas where Cuba is lacking are gradually being improved through pressure by the EU and others. Tourism etc. is increasing.

Of course the problem is that no one ever can agree on what is or were God's words because in the unllikely event he exists ( I agree that there can be no formal proof either way ) one hundred people can analyse what is taken by some to be God's words and come up with 100 different interpretations. Some of these interpretations are militant in all religions and give rise to battle. This is why both organised and non-organised releigion gives rise to conflict. For mankind the only way out is existentialism and many see this as the important development in the 20th. Century.
