Santo Domingo.- The Dominican rapper and reggaeton star known as El Lápiz has been accused of hitting a man with his vehicle and causing his death. Avelino Junior Figuereo Rodríguez (El Lapíz’s real name) is alleged to have hit a man identified as Adriano Martínez González while driving an all-terrain vehicle on December 7th. The man later died at a Santo Domingo hospital.
The accusation was made by the victim’s son, Michael Ariel Martínez. El Lápiz, 25, is one of the Dominican Republic’s leading hip hop and reggaeton stars, who has shared the stage with big names such as Daddy Yankee, Residente Calle 13 and Héctor El Father.
His music has been the subject of sharp criticism from some quarters, on the grounds that it glamorizes sex, violence and drug use.

I am saddened and dissapointed at the narrow minded point of view the postings on the article about this singer have been !?
Gentlemen, and women, you cannot attach the music to this persons deeds. his music is not bad in itself, but what he did was a terrible thing! Just cause its not your music or you dont enjoy the way its presented, dont associate his actions with the music he sings.
If Pavorotti were to be involved in a hit and run, it would not not be fair to say that operatic singers are terrible drivers! I dont like Pavorotti's music, but I can appreciate the level of creativeness it requires, like all music does, whether i listen to it or not.
Remember all music genres began with an uphill climb, jazz, rock, merengue, salsa, etc.. they all faced opposition, that if repeated today would sound ridiculous.
You are all enlightened enough to be at your places in life. Extend that ability and end the year appropriately.

Pavorotti did not wear gold chains around his neck to go with his dumb@ss gold teeth and be goin around talkin bout Hos or is that hose or whatever he call dose bitches ...any way its a long stretch to call this music anyway folkloric noises maybe but not sweet music as Mozart and Ellington meant it to be

2. Compton is a City which has approx. 30 major Gangs.
3. Black Gangs are divided by the Crips & the Bloods.
4. Hispanic Gangs are divided by Norteneos and the Sureneos.
5. Compton Racial break down is approx. 45% Black, 40% Hispanic and the other 15% mixed with other Nationalities.
6. Theres Street Gangsters, Drug Dealers. Rapers who look for a way out of the hood.
