SANTO DOMINGO. - The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) today arrested a fugitive from the U.S., accused of trafficking extasy in that country.
DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón identified the detainee as Andrew Gabriel Almánzar, who was detained when he was driving a vehicle in Santo Domingo Este.
Almánzar is allegedly one of the heads of a narcotics-trafficking network which took extasy of Florida and other states, according to the charges against him.
A Florida Court it issued the arrest order against him on February 20, which the Dominican authorities immediately carried out.
