New envoys in the National Palace

SANTO DOMINGO.- In a ceremony in the National Palace Thursday, president Leonel Fernandez received the credentials of the Vatican nuncio and of the ambassadors from the Netherlands, Hungary, Vietnam and Taiwan.

The chief executive first received monsignor Jozaf Weslowski, representative of the Holy See and fifteen minutes later, the ambassador from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aart Jan M. Verdegaal.

Fernandez also received separately the credentials of the ambassador form Taiwan, Tsai Meng-Hung; Hungary, Janos Horvat, and Vietnam, Vu Chi Cong, in ceremonies lasing around 15 minutes.

Present in the event were vice president Rafael Alburquerque and Foreign Relations minister Carlos Morales.

I only hope these foreign dignitaries realize they are meeting with a reincarnation of a hybrid of Trujillo and Balaguer.

Josean: actually an "Excellent" copy of both "Trujillo" and "Balaguer" which in the short and long term will be good for the country.
