Santo Domingo.- The Navy yesterday arrested two Puerto Ricans on a speedboat who said they went fishing and got lost, near the Punta Cana section, Cabeza de Toro (east).

The authorities said the two foreigners came to the country to get dollars, illegal aliens or drugs to take to Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Ricans Luís Angel Correa, captain of the boat and Ray Antonio A. Coto Carrasquillo are being questioned because they have told the authorities different versions. "First they said they left to fish and strayed off course and then they said they were testing the boat to buy it from a person whom they didn’t know their name," said a source close to the investigation, quoted by newspaper El Nacional.

The Navy agents said if their versions are true, it wasn’t necessary for them to come to Dominican territorial waters.

The authorities suspect that Puerto Ricans and Dominicans have formed rings long ago to take boatpeople, including Cubans and other nationalities, drugs and laundered money to Puerto Rico.
