SANTO DOMINGO.- The Supreme Court yesterday upheld an appellate court’s sentence which condemns the heads of the unions of truckers (Fenatrado), Blas Peralta and of the bus owners (Conatra), Antonio Marte to varying terms in prison, and the issuing of an arrest order is imminent, said the newspaper El Caribe today Monday.

Santo Domingo Appellate Court presiding judge Ester Agelan had found Peralta and Marte guilty for their part in the of embezzlement of around RD$1.8 billion, through the Government’s purchase of vehicles in the Plan Renove.

On Sunday, Peralta and Marte announced a strike for 9 A.M. today, and called a press conference to respond to the sentence.

Is "El Hippo" next???

Excellent news.

Now I do not want to hear of them getting a ‘pardon’ of any sort.

I hope this kind of justice continues. Kudos
