Leonel seems to have failed the test.

Leonel let Uribe sweet talk him.

Belial I don’t think that Lionel was sweet talked into what Uribe wanted. I don’t agree with what Colombia did; however I think that Leonel did good by convincing, or trying to convince Ecuador, Venezuela, and Colombia to make peace. Think about it, this could have resulted in a war that would have sucked all of Latin America (LA) into it, thus making LA’s economy even more unstable than what it is. + I think that the Rio Group summit is looking for ways to improve LA not to make things worse.

"Belial I don’t think that Lionel was sweet talked into what Uribe wanted."

oooo

Maybe you're right. At least, this is what everybody is saying.

But I believe that Uribe's undeserved sucsess at the Rio Summit inflames his conceit and assures further aggression against Latin American countries by Colombia on behalf of the US imperialism, using the same pretext of "self-defense."

But perhaps Leonel did as well as anybody else in the world under the circumstances.

I may have hoped for a miracle, that is, a violation of a law of nature.

Nature won lamentably.

0000

The big deal is that Israel does it.

Israeli territorial expansionism is an evil thing.

"... the Latin American and Caribbean composition of the Rio Group, which excludes the United States, was a key factor to overcome the crisis."

"In an article published a few hours after the conclusion of the Rio Group Summit, the historic leader [Fidel] of the Cuban Revolution noted the fact that the debate did not take place within the OAS and, most importantly, US diplomats were not in attendance."

Imperialist running dogs and quislings of the GOP barbarians are not exactly pleased by this historic precedent of excluding US imperialists from discussions and deliberations on a regional crisis of overriding importance.

Such a show of self-determination and independence from the hegemony and supervision of US imperialists has never attracted such high level and general participation from the countries of the region.
