NEW YORK.-The Miuca party’s presidential candidate said the Dominican community in the United States, though forgotten by all governments in the last 40 years, works and feels for their homeland which they left behind.

Guillermo Moreno said the activities he attended in New York last weekend had warmth and manifestations of identity, "which challenge us and fill us with pride."

The former National District prosecutor hosted a dinner-conference in the Fort York Presbyterian Church’s auditorium, in Saint Nicolas Avenue and 186th Street Upper Manhattan, where he occupied the main table accompanied by supporters and leaders of the Dominican community.

He said the Dominican diaspora are "patriotic people who work day and night, minute by minute for the destiny of the Dominican Republic," whose population is amid an electoral process with the participation of the three traditional parties which have dominated the country’s politics for the last 40 years

Moreno said there are “satellite” parties that negotiate and at the same time are part of traditional parties which in 11 presidencies, haven’t solved Dominican society’s deeply disturbing problems.

The education system is neither of quality nor accessible to all, and results in 1.3 million people being illiterate, he said.

Please people do not say that the only choice we have is between the thieves who are in power or the ones who want to be in power!

Here is a clear choice for true change.
