SANTO DOMINGO.- The San Cristóbal province (south) judicial authorities won’t release convicted drug trafficker Rolando Florián Féliz on parole because the court order was irregular, said Court of Appeals prosecutor Hernandez Vélez to newspaper El Caribe.
The official said Palenque township interim judge Leydi Esther Ciriaco Montilla signed the court order April 15, six days after the Court of Appeals had fired her on the 9th, a dismissal the Supreme Court upheld on the 15th.
Vélez said it was yesterday when Prisons warden chief Sandoval Cabrera; Najayo Prison for Men warden Alfonso de la Rosa, and himself learned of the court order.
"We as prosecutor, warden of Najayo, Prisons director and the Justice Ministry, refused to carry out and acknowledge that illegality which a judge who was dismissed issued," he said, quoted by El Caribe.
Florian Feliz is considered the most dangerous drug-trafficking convict in the country, with at least one major attempted prison break foiled by authorities during his time served in the Monte Plata Model Penitentiary.
