Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Julio Cesar Castaños said Tuesday the elections court isn’t aware that electoral results have been intercepted online, as all measures will be taken to prevent intrusions in the data transmission system. "I don’t have any knowledge of results has been intervened by hackers, but all measures taken in that regard are good."

As to reports of a request for services by specialists to protect from hackers and guarantee the transmission of the polls’ results on May 16, the JCE president said it’s "well-meaning." "The Board has guarantees that its networks cannot be violated, the guarantee is from the traditional provider (CODETEL) and there have never been any problems."

In that regard, JCE Administrative Chamber president Robert Rosario said "never had the JCE been so sure regarding the part which has to do with technology and the results," adding that "the data will be transferred in the same manner it was done in the 2004 and 2006 elections, the difference is that instead of doing it from the Board it will be done from the voting precincts."
