Santo Domingo.-  The Rapid Action Task Forces and the Marine Police yesterday intercepted a boat with seven sacks of 177 kilos of cocaine and one of heroin, with an estimated street value of more than US$10 million.

Police said they suspect the shipment captured Tuesday morning had left from Dominican Republic’s east coast to Puerto Rico’s west coast, on a boat registered to the Dominican Jesus Angel Rodriguez and the Puerto Rican Orlando Canseco Cortes, who are sought by police.

The boat occupants came to Añascos’ Barrero neighborhood, where before reaching the beach, the two men aboard dove in the water and escaped.

If you watch the news carefully over years, you will notice that the PR police always catch the dope but never the dopers. It's a convenient way to get the stuff ashore and garner favorable headlines at the same time.

The two suspects "escaped" by diving into the water? don't know if these guys are PR or from DR, but they should be on the olympic swim team !
