Santo Domingo.- Armed Forces minister Ramon Aquino yesterday said the Army will take all measures necessary to protect and monitor the border with Haiti, from Pedernales to Dajabon, due to increased immigration from the neighboring country.

Although Aquino didn’t specify whether the measures taken by the Border Guard unit Cesfront were due to the possibility of Haitian immigrants flocking to this country because of a possible famine in the neighboring country, he noted that it’s the Army’s duty to secure and control the border under any circumstance. “Cesfront is doing its job and it’s carrying out different phases, according to staff, time and resources available."

Speaking at Las Americas Airport where he went to meet president Leonel Fernandez, Aquino Garcia said 50 new troops will join Cesfront later this month, and 100 more will receive, “rigorous training.”

Securing your borders is your right; I'm not disputing this! But I must also denounce the hatred against my fellow countrymen... I know that posting a reply is here futile, but for having visited many times the eastern part of the island of Haiti, (ISLAND OF HAITI) I'm pleased to now count among my friends many Dominicans who do not share your sick and pathetic views...

Dominicans are among my best friends, however some commentaries in this forum are shameful and a total disgrace, in particular to the Dominicans(uneducated) that live outside. I will wait to see...I do not disagree what action a sovereign country may take... hasta cuando-- talk is cheap.

Hope this time is not pure propaganda to appease a few. I welcome this, DO IT, better do it the proper way humanely, otherwise watch out for negative repercussion.

LOL..no diga nada socio. Fact is that if there was a serious mandate to get rid of all illegal haitians and seal the border the Dominican military would've done it long ago. This is the very institution that facilitates the movement of illegal haitians in the country. It's no secret. Dominican freinds of mine from the liñea (the borderlands with haiti) would tell me stories of seeing Dominican military trucks packed with illegal haitians in the dead of night. For all of those who are worried about the Dominican Republic being inundated with illegal haitians the Dominican military is the last institution to heap praise on. They'll bring Satan himself into DR for the right price.

Heck, you shouldn't be complaining, mr. Dom, specially if we take into account that ALL of the construction projects that you're so busily advertising in your forum threads "Boom in Santo Domingo" and "Boom in the DR" are being built using haitian cheap labour on a 95%. Needless to say, these workers, even though they are making a superb job, have to suffer the downside of being underpaid and to be on a constant state of danger because of the lack of proper safety measures on the construction projects.

On a serious note let's see how this pans out. If my domestic employee goes home and bring another relative to the DR I will know that it's all hype..lol. I have been interested in this and I found out there are buscunes that give discount rates for repeated loyal customers. Immigration needs to be curtailed and until corruption stops and bi-lateral agreements both poor haitians & poor dominicans will be effected. Mr. Dom I find your comment a tad hypocritical sense your boom sto dgo has alot to do with haitian construction workers(cheap labour). Shots of the construction workers in that hot sun would also be nice. I thought having ur haitian bethrens on here would be great for positive discussion about the issues. I was only pointing out to Mr. Dom the incoherence of his toughts, Rubi, attacking the haitians that have posted on this site while praising the construction projects being built all over the Republic, construction projects in which the absolute majority of the workers are haitian inmigrants. Apparently, in your universe (as well as his), the haitians are only good for making back breaking labour but not for stating their opinions on the world wide web.

Pushing the issue in our faces that We must open the borders and let the Haitians do as They please is no civilized, orderly, organized or 21st century developed mentality.

The plight of Dominicans and Haitians cannot be explained or solved by a few rag tagged individuals who have not lived the Dominican Experience. Eating at Dominican restaurants or dating a Dominican or even having a parent who is Dominican does not qualify. "Living the Dominican Experience" is living and experiencing Dominican life in its simple essence.

So having said. It would be nice if individuals who are not Dominican; who have not embraced the Dominican culture (the good and bad) as their own; who have not lived the Dominican life; who cannot or are unwilling to understand and accept our complexities as our Dominican complexities; complexities that should be solved by us, I wish they would leave and establish their own site with their own agenda and simply quit trying to preach to a choir.

OUTSIDERS!!!!! let us dominicans run our country in peace. And let the haitians do whatever it is they do on their side of the island. And once we get our things in order then we can help those guys get their act together. Because whatever happens on that side of the island always affects us. Like these food shortages, and then you get this mass exodus of Haitians. If the outside haitians want to complain, let them, they have been complaining since the 1700's and look where it got them...not far. And if the outside haitians think they are so high and worthy then they should do some good to their country and return and make progress. Untill then stop complaining, starting to sound like those americans on t.v..."I cant get a job because I am black" "I cant do this because I am black" "I can do that because I am black" "The white man brings me down" Ahhh please get over yourself.

Here is what I have to say. Here are two Haitian Web Sites and go look to see if Haitians ever talk down to Dominicans. http://www.PrevalHaiti.com & http://www.RadioTambou.com You are not going to find any negative comments about Dominicans nor any posts about DR's wrong doings.

This will go out to show who is more racist in views, more aggressively more concentrated on divisive issues than the other... Many Dominicans (not all) may deny this all they want and come up with all kinds of excuses to say they are not racist, but your adamant campaigns and persecutions against one kind of people because of Historical resentments and skin color is what in definition? It is not like DR do not have illegals from other foreign Countries there, but no, if they are white they have a right to stay in DR.

Those same Dominican guards are the same ones taking money from smugglers and Human traffickers... It has been reported already by foreign investigators and Human Right groups that this practice has become this existing cycle in DR that first they let the Haitians being smuggled in then when they want to show a front they turn around and k now exactly where to go get those same Haitians they have allowed in and they also go against those traffickers as well, because if they do not, those guards know they will be exposed. Knowing DR's history on maters like this, this is just a hypocritical front and will alter go back to business as usual that is how those corrupted guards play both sides. DR's Governments and the Trafficker Lords.

It is hard to imagine Dominicans are "allegedly" descendent of Tainos and not Caribs tribes, because the Tainos werevery peaceful loving people or is it the White-Euro Spania barbaric blood in Dominicans why they adamant at hating Haitians?

I invite as well as I encourage all Dominicans to go to Haitians websites to see or show me where Haitians has ever talk bad about DR or Dominicans as Dominicans talk about so badly of Haitians and Haiti. Haitians do not go to sleep at night dreaming to wake up the next day with ways to make it a living hell for Dominicans, however it is obvious many Dominicans (not all) actually do make it their mission to eradicate Haitians off the Island if they were to have it their ways much like most Islamic Estates want to wipe Israel off the map or off the face of he World. hat Dominicans need to do or has yet to do is start strapping bombs on their chests, but even then it would be ridicule because they are not the one being oppressed and it shows that in views Dominicans are more oppressing in their views.

Let us compare and contrast who is more racist by comparing the spewing hatred coming out of writings of Dominicans on this site with the writings of Haitians on Haitian websites.

And about the Haitian website you provided I bet there’s not a group of Dominican complaining about everything over there; highjacking every single conversation and turning it into war of words. Or the sites are just better managed and people are just not allowed to post what ever they want like this psycho site

30% of the active members of the armed forces are used for non-military related jobs... I even heard once that generals make their soldiers who are supposed to provide security, work in their farms "Sembrando BATATA"...

We already have the personnel to guard the border effectevely althought i would prefer the enlargement of CESFRONT since the Dominican army border personell has to much history of corruption in the area.

Good day,
I am addressing Jander or Gander. You are referring to human beings, those Haitians you wish your street corners could be cleaned of. You have emptied your bordelos at our street corners with every thing such a situation entails. You share this island with Haitians, remember! Has 25 years of Boyer kept you in the mud as you keep Haitians in dire poverty? Check your history books, you may know how to read, perhaps you lack comprehension. DON´T YOU DARE BE PROUD OF YOURSELF CABRON... Where does this cruelty come from, is it the massacre of 1937 that keeps you so ruthless? What is this latent criminal energy within you? You are a despicable creature, you lack so many human virtues, so much intelligence, and so much humanity. Are you sure you are not in a pen somewhere in the countryside relishing the filthy mud your species is so used to? However, it is so touching how Haitians are bending over backwards to be kindly to you, what is this obssession? I do not get it.

Between You and Him You sound more prosaic and out of tune to prove Your point, also remember everybody has a right of opinion.

One thing is to have a right of voicing Your concerns on this website and another one is
abusing our kindness to spit in our faces with so many international fake campaigns.

TO: JRRubirosa,

So you are checking credentials. You are here in my country and you are asking me for my credentials. You are one absurd alien. Why don't you write JRRubirosa on your forehead then go to Philadelphia, Mississippi and asks for JohnUSA.

Since you are so obsess with "Haitians", let me give you a reality check. There is no such thing as 100% Dominican. Dominicans are 100% Haitians which therefore makes you HAITIAN. Whatever you people are, we have no use for third world scums like you. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
