SOMETHING SOUNDS FISHY HERE - It obviously seems that options to openly discriminate against Haitians is running out on DR's part as they keep coming with justifications for their hatred and racism. If a God really do exist, there should be a day of reckoning for those indignant malicious hate Campaigns that they are raging against the poor Haitians as it seems this God has forgotten about the Black race and the Haitians have become the World's easiest targeted scapegoats for everything. Anything they can do to help and make sure they demeaned Haiti and its people. I am surprised they have not yet say the very existence of Haitians is the actual cause for Global Warming and that the estimated number they gave above was not indeed the whole 1Million which is the estimated population number of Haitians living in DR.
Yet I am sure that is coming soon next, so do not stop there DR... Is this all you have gotten and the best you could have done? Thank you innocent sin-free DR, if there is to be a Judgment Day, your trial is set to take place apart from everyone else's. However, it is sad that there is no GOD. Here have a parade

Please, give me a break will you. DR is fourth, if not third of the World main supplier of Prostitutes next to Brazil and the Philippines ranging from the age of as low as 12 to 40 if not even older which many reports have reported that "for the right amount of money, those prostitutes often engage in unprotected sex with tourists" yet no reports have ever expose their infected HIV/AIDS rates... That explains why all of the other ever reported Articles on this site last only a certain short period of time and are taken off, but yet the Haitian-Haiti related Articles get to last several months on here so that they could get their message through and across the minds of all, any and as much Dominicans as possible so they can get to continue on the "Hate The Haitians" agenda. Sure buddy, whatever helps you sleep at night or perhaps not help you sleep at night. Well then since we are all in the nicest of mood of stating that this is Haitian paranoia then let us watch a nice humorous video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEoqBX1Z4zo Yes, I am sure if a Haitian or any were to assume and think this it could only mean that this particular and all those Haitians are simply paranoid. Right, exactly right dear friend, that is exactly what you mean right? They should not at all think the worse since this report will indeed help them rather of it creating Anti-semitism, right?
From: United States, Smyrna, GA
Oh yeah, self inflicted without any doubt sure... it all just so happened to be coincidental that the one Black Country that has interrupted the Economic growth of many White-European Conqueror giants is facing all those plights right? Sorry to break this to you, Hispanolano, but your bosses at the US Department of State are singing an entirely different tune, saying that Haiti is the country with the highest prevalence of AIDS in the entire hemisphere, so much that they say that half of Haiti's children population is orphan from one or both parents. If you don't believe me, check their numbers and see for yourself:

Dude ask for the studies conducted by the US government to see if what is being said in this article is racism or straight statistics.
Dude, they have conducted lengthy studies of HIV/AIDS patients in Haiti. The study was not conducted in DR for a reason. It was conducted in HAITI for its number of infected patients.
Believe it. Another major problem is TB which has made us #4 in the American continent and it is traced back to HAITI. Major problem is people who have HIV cannot take the medication for TB and vice versa therefore people die of one or the other.

When you have an issue with some one do you address it with that individual or do you just complain to yourself?
The best way to confront people like you is to come to you because we know that you are too x,y,z to come over and come talk to us not because you are better but simply because you are too ignorant now we could be more ignorant by not even coming here and discuss our problems but then again Haitians are civilized people we try to communicate with our enemies instead of living in the past like you Francisco.

Sorry, mr. souvien, my mistake. That's what usually happens when one leaves passion to get the better of oneself. I apologize for my misstep and will try to be more careful next time. Still, the news shows that Haiti really needs help in building some sort of acceptable medical infrastructure in the country, because, from what I have heard (and seen in the border towns), the few hospitals on the country are only affordable by the better off economically, and there exist very few medical personnel on the field in the country, a lack that, although it has partly been filled by the cuban volunteer corps, it's still not enough to attend to the needs of the country.

It just my stop being a site where Haitians come to when biased negative Haitian articles no longer are posted on here in the racially motivated campaign by this site's agenda to feed and fuel on anger and anti-semitism sentiments from other Dominicans. Some Countries, because of already foreign investments they will not or cannot afford to place bad reputation on them so that those foreigners do not lose their interests. Places like Jamaica, DR and others where White-Foreigners have invested in and basically is still supporting for their personal interests, of course you are not going to hear the negativism from them. However, Haiti is just always the simple easiest target. They figures, hey what the hell!

The sex brothels, the beach prostitutes much of DR is mostly all prostitutes. Santiago, Santo Domingo, Boca Chica, Sosua, Puerto Plata, Cabarete, Punta Cana, La Romana and many more places especially those toursit resorts and areas that harbors prostitution.... On November 18, 1803, Jean-Jacques Dessalines had ordered Capois to take Vertières, a fort situated upon the mount. Capois-la-mort advanced with a demi-brigade which horribly multilated, soon recoiled before the fire of the fort. He led it back for a second time, but again driven to the bottom of the hill by the mitrailleuse. Boiling with rage, Capois ran to seek other new troops, and mounting his horse advanced for the third time; again the thousand deaths that vomited from the fortress repulsed him and his brigade. Now for the fourth time,he asked his men to follow him by saying Forward! forward!. while he was at the head of his men, his horse was hit by a canonball- he fell , but in the twinkling of an eye , capois took his sword, got up, and ran to place himself again at the head of his black soldiers by shouting forward! forward!.

Suddenly, the battle stood still. A French staff officer mounted his horse and rode toward the intrepid Capoix-la-Mort. With a great voice he shouted: ‘’General Rochambeau sends compliments to the general who has just covered himself with such glory!" Then he saluted the Haitian warriors, returned to his position and the fight resumed. The next morning a french officer followed by his companions led to the headquarters of the Haitian army a horse caparisoned and delivered him with these words: The Captain-general ( rochambeau) offers this horse as a mark of admiration to the black Achilles to replace the one of his that the french army regrets to have killed.

Again, the past is irrelevant if it doesn´t help you to survive and build a reputation ON THE PRESENT, which is the one that counts in the end. As the Che Guevara used to say, it´s not winning the war the thing that counts, but maintaining and building something out of the sacrifices made in winning that war is the thing that matters in the end. Sadly, in the case of the haitian revolution, the fruits of the victory have only been reaped by a selected few (the old colonial affranchi, gens de couleur class), while the mass of the people languish in hunger, disease and despair.

Also, answering your ¨warrior¨ question, if we dominicans are not a warrior nation, then how do you explain us surviving the english expedition of admiral Penn in 1655 (which ended up conquering Jamaica as a consolation prize), the french buccaneer expeditions of the XVII and XVIII centuries (which ended up obtaining only what is today haitian territory), the haitian expeditions of Dessalines in 1805 and Faustin Soulouque in 1848-1855, the spaniards in 1863-1865, and finally, helped the cubans get their independence in 1898, this last effort captained by the inmortal banilejo Maximo Gomez? trust me, rom1804, luck doesn´t explain this country surviving all that. Yeah, yeah, keep blabbering about. I´ll bet that you have to recite that every time you go to sleep in order for you to actually get some of it. I don´t need to cite any reference, just go to any library and look for the biography of admiral William Penn to see about his disastrous defeat at Santo Domingo, or any cuban history book to get details about the exploits of the dominicans and Maximo Gomez during their independence conflict (specially ¨la carga del machete¨), or look for the book ¨Naboth's Vineyard: The Dominican Republic, 1844-1924. Arno Press. ISBN 0-405-04596-4.¨ by Sumner Welles, to see about the struggles of the dominican nation to stay independent. And for your info, Welles was an american, and americans at that time hardly had any simpathy for dominicans. Using your own reasoning against you, if we can´t claim credit for defeating Cromwell, then you can´t claim credit for defeating the british at Savannah during the American Revolution. It opened on September 22, 1835 at Théâtre de l'Ambigu-Comique. As a playwright Dumas made his breakthrough with HENRI III ET SA COUR (1829), produced by the Comédie-Française. The romantic tale about power and love was set in the Renessaince court of Henry III and drew on Louis-Pierre Anquetil's Histoire de France and Pierre de L'Estoile's Memoires-journaux. Its success prompted Dumas to continue with additional plays, of which LA TOUR DE NESLE (1832, The Tower of Nesle) is considered the greatest masterpiece of French melodrama. It was written in collaboration with Frédéric Gaullardet. The action centeres around the doomed Queen Marguerite de Bourgogne, who has ordered her illegitimate sons to be killed, but who appears into her life twenty years later.

ALEXANDRE DUMA - was born in Villes-Cotterêts, France. His grandfather was a French nobleman, who had settled in Santo Domingo; his paternal grandmother, Marie-Cessette, was an Afro-Caribbean, who had been a black slave in the French colony. Dumas' father was a general in Napoleon's army, who had fallen out of favor. After his death in 1806, the family lived in poverty. Dumas worked as a notary's clerk in Villers-Cotterêtes and went in 1823 to Paris to find work. Due to his elegant handwriting he secured a position with the Duc d'Orléans - later King Louis Philippe. He also found his place in theater and as a publisher of some obscure magazines. An illegitimate son called Alexandre Dumas fils, whose mother, Marie-Catherine Labay, was a dressmaker, was born in 1824.

DUMAS - wrote constantly, producing a steady stream of plays, novels, and short stories. Before 1843 he had already created fifteen plays. Historical novels brought Dumas an enormous fortune, but he could spent money faster than he made it. He produced some 250 books with his 73 assistants, especially with the history teacher Auguste Maquet, whom he wisely allowed to work quite independently. However, his works are not faithful to the historical facts, but blend skillfully history and fiction. From the beginning, Dumas' abilities as a writer were under dispute, but he is fully credited with revitalizing the historical novel in France.

The Count of Monte-Cristo originated from Dumas' acquaintance with Jérôme Bonaparte, Napoléon Bonaparte's brother, whose younger son Dumas took occasionally on short educational journeys. Returning from Elba, Dumas spotted another island, the deserted Monte-Carlo, about which he determined to write a novel in remembrance of the trip. The protagonist of the novel, Edmond Dantès, is about to marry his sweetheart and become a captain of a vessel. He is framed by three enemies as a Napoleonic conspirator, shortly before Napoleon's dramatic return from Elba in 1815.

DUMAS - earned roughly 200,000 francs yearly and received an annual sum of 63,000 francs for 220,000 lines from the newspapers La Presse and the Constitutionel. Maquet often proposed subjects and wrote first drafts for some of Dumas' most famous serial novels, including LES TROIS MOUSQUETAIRES (1844, The Three Musketeers), originally serialized in Le Siècle between March and July of 1844, and LE COMTE DE MONTE-CRISTO (1844-45, The Count of Monte-Cristo). DIX ANS PLUS TARD OU LE VICOMTE DE BRAGELONNE first appeated in Le Siècle from 1847 to 1850, and was then published in three volumes, The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Louise de la Vallière, and The Man in the Iron Mask.

Dantès is imprisoned in the Chateau d'If, by the politician Villefort, who is anxious to conceal his own father's machinations on behalf of Bonaparte. Educated by the Abbé Faria, Dantés remains in the French Alcatraz 14 years, before he manages to escape, in a highly dramatic manner. He flees to the island of Monter Cristo, and locates a fabulous treasure, hidden since the time of Renaissance. As the Count of Monte Cristo and with the wealth of the treasure, Dantès destroys his enemies and shows the wrong side of the bourgeois world. "Let it be as you wish, my sweet angel' said the Count. 'God has sustained me against my enemies and I see now He does not wish me to end my triumph with repentance. I intended punishing myself, but God has pardoned me! Love me, Haydee! Who knows? Perhaps your love will help me to forget all I do not wish to remember! Come, Haydee!" (from The Count of Monte Cristo) .
From: United States, Smyrna, GA
DUMAS based the story of Edmond Dantès partly on the life of a poor shoemaker named François Picaud. As a master dialogist, Dumas developed character traits, and kept the action moving, and composed the all-important chapter endings - teaser scenes that maintained suspense and readers interest to read more. Dumas himself claimed that he only began writing his books when they were already completed in his head.

The same reasoning that you used against my claimming a victory against Cromwell for dominicans could be made against your claimming Du Sable's foundation of Chicago as a victory for haitians, rom1804, because, from what I last heard, when Du Sable made his foundation, Haiti was still the french colony of Saint Domingue on 1779, when he first arrived to the shores of Lake Michigan, so it's evident that he made his landmark being a french citizen (and he would be almost executed by the british forces stationed over there because of that). And, as Hispanolano has (inadvertently) pointed out, you have made a mistake regarding Dumas, because he was born on the french mainland, not on Saint Domingue. So please, mr. Mugabe's waterboy, next time that you want to use verbal jiujitsu against me, try to go for the kill. Your boss would certainly be pissed off to see his top henchman getting sloppy on his assasssin skills. LOL
P.S. Tsk, tsk, you still haven't looked for his Gucci suit.

Are you willing to make a bet out of that dumb remark, Rubi? If you do, then you'll find that you have lost your money already. Gosh, man, can't you defend your country without bashing other people's nationalities for once in your life? Didn't they teach you the difference between responsible patriotism (which comes with the recognition of the flaws of one's country) and dumb nationalism (which characterize itself by a blind aceptance of every thing that it's wrong with one's nation country) at school?

Lautaro, jajajajja, I have never seen you lost your cool b4 this Rom1804 guy really got under your skin. It's easy to lose it when alot of B.S. is typed. I can understand believe me. Francisco yes the whole island belonged to Spanish which isn't dominican republic. Ayiti existed before Hispaniola because it is the one of the original name of the island your correlation of bringing african slaves doesn't make sense that is also what compose of dominicans. Please read your history books again. Haiti is a taino word like Quisqueya,Bohio original name of the island. Dominicans had nothing to due with spanish possessing the whole island. Can we discuss how to improve the present instead of trying to interpret history in fictitious ways. Peace & Love

Hey man it must be the carribbean. So Hatians and Dominicans like to have sex. Unprotected ses. OK so we're stupid. Let's try to fix that. As far as racism goes, Dominicans are all octomorune now. We do anyone. We have no real Identity anymore. Mellow out everyone. We should all just try to help each other. Hatians should start planting again so they can get some good going on there. That will help their country. Dominicans, we need to stop hatin. Let's be the happy people we usually are. We can be strong if we help each other. We all live on one of the most beautifull islands in the world. Let's concentrate on making it better.

JabaoHaitian, I can make anyone mad Lautaro is no exception. Lately I've been hitting Lautaro with a little of his own medicines. FACTS and they weren't all in his favor. Now Lautaro explain to me this " The Dominicans always claimed that they are direct descendants of the Tainos. But yet they refused to rename the island AYITI in honor of the Tainos. I would think they would be more in favor of AYITI than Hispaniola since AYITI is a Taino word. MOst of them are more lenient to Quiskeya because Quiskeya sounds more Spanish but us Haitians feels that if you want to rename is Quiskeya that is fine but as long that it is spelled Kiskeya with a K again more in favor of the Taino original Language becuase Quiskeya spelled like that sounds too Frenchy to us. If you look at this recent poll on
http://thehaitiandominicanrepublic.blogspot.com/ most Dominicans are opposed to renaming the Island period.

Lautaro, I am falling back from participating in this site because, frankly, I don't see anything productive being discuss. It's all the same rant who did this to who,and we are the ones who. I mean it gets tiring and fustrating. I have too much to live for to have some idiots make me get all upset for nothing. I was shock to see you get out of character, but this guy is up par with Rubi..
Why in the world would dominicans call the whole island Haiti in present day. Although it's one of the original name of the island, it doesn't today because we(haitians) have coined it for are side of the island. I mean I dont see the problem with them recognising the obvious but to call them Haitians doesn't make sense. It's like we are quisqueyanos too but when referring to that name it usually referred to them "dominicans". They have coined it just like we've coined Ayiti. Please get it thru your skull we are two different countries and have alot in common and many differences.
From: Haiti
Rom1804, Frankly as someone that share the same nationality with you I have to say you are bringing shame and can cause harm to haitians living in the DR with your rant. What are you getting at and what's your objective. To get dominicans mainly in the diaspora upset. You guys can take that beef in the states while haitians/dominicans on the island try to build a cordial relationship. This is serious life young man and you can cause some crazy lunatic dominican to further despise haitians by throwing out the same ills. Do as you please, but really think about the consequences for your nationals in a precarious state in the DR while you're chillin in the states. Let's all be responsible...dominican & haitians. We are more than that..Peace & Love..

Here here Jabao. I am "Dominican" because my parents were born there even though I was born in the US. I have personally seen the racism and the mistreating of Hatians in the country and can say I am embarrassed by it. I always make it a point to buy at least one Haitan food while I am there. I know it will not make a big difference but hey 1 step at a time right. My uncle gives jobs to hatians to work in the fields because quite frankly there a very few Dominicans that will do the work anymore. They are too busy trying to get money out of US visitors. I can't even ask anyone how are things because I will always get the same story. Hopefully by my example of compassion for 1 I can start a trend of sympathy and respect. Who knows, maybe even of self pride to Dominicans.

Once again I am saddened by the haitians plight in the DR as well as in Haiti. Dominicans are really trying to move ahead and they want to build and profit in stability. Through all of this I am waiting for Leonel to completely close the border and open it for absolutely no one or nothing. Its hard but the DR cannot take on the problems of these people anymore. My people, I am haitiana. And they have to learn on their own. I hope Haiti doesn't pull a Hiroshima or Nagasaki on themselves. They need help and they need it bad. God help them don't forget them, because they have forgotten themselves. No one is victimizing them but themselves and they need prayer. I know Leonel is not going to let this spiral out of control, something drastic is seriously going to happen. Sooner or later. God be with them.

http://www.yickyak.com
SOMETHING SOUNDS FISHY HERE - It obviously seems that options to openly discriminate against Haitians is running out on DR's part as they keep coming with justifications for their hatred and racism. As though the 15 to 28 age factor given above, local Dominican infected prostitutes has never been reported by any Dominican Ministry Of Health officials.
You are as dumb as Your comments...............
Where is the racial issue related to this news................................
Here have a parade http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_QLUJHaB6U
Oh sure, there is no racial issue related to this news and it is all innocently being reported out of the kindness and purity of DR's heart.
Sure buddy, as though no level of affixation and targeted focus was not at play here.
Sure, it that helps you go to sleep at night while discreetly saying to yourself "Yes, yes, yes, those goddamn Haitians."
God hasn't forgot the Haitians at all, why don't You try to be more realistic saying that whatever Haiti is going through right now is self inflicted and done by Your own people unwilling to
acknowledge own mistakes and failing all the time on fixing Them.
Japas was literaly "Wipe out" from earth when the US drop the 2 bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and They came back from the ashes and rise Themelves like the Phoenix in the Greek mithology.
Japan is part of the G8 today and instead of blaming somebody in 1945 They push and move ahead without pointing fingers to nobody else but Themselves to improve their country.
Haiti and Haitians is the total opposite equation factor always calling for racism, color of skin, discrimination and else to look for excuses no to make in the 21st Century.
Your people need to grow up or You will be stuck in the 1804...............
Well then since we are all in the nicest of mood of stating that this is Haitian paranoia then let us watch a nice humorous video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEoqBX1Z4zo Yes, I am sure if a Haitian or any were to assume and think this it could only mean that this particular and all those Haitians are simply paranoid. Right, exactly right dear friend, that is exactly what you mean right? They should not at all think the worse since this report will indeed help them rather of it creating Anti-semitism, right?
Oh yeah, self inflicted without any doubt sure... it all just so happened to be coincidental that the one Black Country that has interrupted the Economic growth of many White-European Conqueror giants is facing all those plights right? Then in that case, there really is no real resentments hatred and racial tensions between Haiti and DR then right... and that Dominicans and Haitians are living harmoniously as we speak, sure buddy. Japan is pretty much still an occupied influenced estates of the United States and other Foreign Countries in case you have not made any attempt to realize. Research Japan-US Policies, will you?
However I am sure nor am I not surprised that this "Haiti and Haitians is the total opposite equation factor always calling for racism, color of skin, discrimination and else to look for excuses no to make it in the 21st Century. Your people need to grow up or you will be stuck in the 1804" crap was exactly where you were heading, oh so typical of you.
Sure kiddo, sure... I suppose this is how you would like Haiti to put it like those women in this video right (lol). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKalprIGeFs In fact you know what, I will let you have the last word.
He will punish the Haitians for the Brutal occupation of the Dominican Republic...

Its not make believe. THIS ARE FACTS...

Like I said, prostitution roam openly in DR yet where was the last time you hear a report of any kind form any DR's Ministry of Health about any kind of HIV/AIDS epidemic of those Dominican prostitutes who range from the age of 12 to any older age. Where is a single report of their HIV/AIDS outbreak? Oh that is right, there are none since no Dominican has ever been infected with HIV / AIDS at all ever in their all prostitute careers in DR... sure and we are talking about emotional reaction right?
Don't you know that Dominicans are immune to HIV/AIDS only Haitians carry that disease.
I mean with a country with a high rate of prostitution like DR its impossible for them to be the spreader of HIV to other countries with less rate of prostitution i.e Haiti, Suriname.
DOMINICANS ARE IMMUNE TO HIV.

And remenber if you want your "ISLAND" back just try to invade us, that way the dominican army and every single dominican can just wipe haiti out of the planet..............................And i meen it every dominican will defend it's country.
Last time I checked Duarte had to go make deals with Spain to supply his little militia of Dominican Revolutionaries. lol just because you don't see an Army parading Haitian streets that doesn't mean we don't have one. In the world of warriors Dominicans just don't exist I'm sorry but it is true. Name one Dominican General? Past, Present, or Future and I will show you a legion of Haitian warriors kicking butt all over the world. Just stick to prostitution Dominican boy because that's the only thing the world knows you are good for. Stick to it and live the macho stuff to us Haitians.
Try to enter to a barrio of the ones in Santo Domingo city (Capotillo, Los Mina, Guachupita) with your stupid bs preaching and see what you´ll get for all your trouble. I assure you that you´ll find enough warriors (and bullets) over there to meet your expectations, fool.
Haitians are direct descendants of the Zulu tribes you can openly say that we were the Spartans of Africa. breed for WAR. we may not be the best at everything but in the Art of War we scored an A+.
I'm sure you have heard this slogan before. A weapon does not kill it is a hard heart that kills. and Dominicans just don't have the balls and the heart to go to war with us.
Besides the Dominican Army is only a few thousand strong while you will be facing a Haitian Army of 8 million nationals plus 4 million Diaspora plus ME. and that my friend is something you Dominicants will never understand. Haitians are Warriors man just stay away from them when it comes to WAR.
That's funny...................mugabe-boy A.K.A. moron 1804........lol lol lol

DR GREATEST MISTAKE WAS TO LET HATIANS STAY IN THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE ISLAND, WHY DID'NT WE JUST ERRADICADED THEM WHEN WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO.

Toussaint Louverture played a key role in what was the first successful attempt by a subject slave population to throw off the yoke of Western colonialism. He defeated armies of three imperial powers: Spain, France, and Great Britain. The success of the Haitian Revolution had enduring effects on the institution of slavery throughout the New World. Haiti became the second independent republic in the Western Hemisphere

WHAT? these comments .... Anyway, I know that GC will say this is grassy knol.... But to me it's as if there is a conspiracy to destroy Haiti.
Destroy Haiti by requiring Hatians to live there?
island, there were no hatians just spanish and the native that were the tainos. Indians.
after columbus got rid of a great part of the native .. they brought the slave from africa
and france got part of the island know as haity... but Hispaniola was named the entire island
after spain .... so the island was spanish before the french came in the Dominican republic ..

soldier. His famous writings includes, THE THREE MUSKETEERS and
THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO.
Joseph Laroche, a Haitian-born, French-educated engineer, had no intention of traveling on the Titanic when he and his family left France in 1912
Hell we even had the first and only black man that died on the TITANIC. We are a unique race indeed and we are not only famous for our poorest country in the western hemisphere title.
And I know you love those books and The Count of Monte Cristo is one bad movie.
And who doesn't love the 3 Musketeers?
You see child I can go on all night about Haitians and their unmatched accomplishments throughout the world but that's not the point my point is WE ARE JUST BETTER THAN YOU DOMINICANS IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.
DUMAS - was an omnivorous reader. Especially he was interested in plays. His first produced drama was LA CHASSE ET L'AMOUR, written with with Adolphe de Leuven and P.J. Rosseau.

The conclusion is AIDS kills, don't have sex with a prostitute.
The discussion kicking off with racism, leading to bold talk of Haitians invading the Dom. Rep. for resources and riches is not healthy.
The conclusion is stand down that talk, the F.A. would clean your clock in a heart beat.
