Santo Domingo.– A total of 47 immigrants are back in the Dominican Republic after the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted them at sea.

The Coast Guard says the crew of the Miami-based cutter Ocracoke helped detain another eight people for prosecution following two at-sea detentions on Thursday and Friday.

At least three of those individuals were detained for attempting to illegally enter the United States on at least two occasions. The United States Attorney's Office in Puerto Rico will prosecute their cases.

"Excellent job by the U.S Coast Guard. Deport all of them back to the Hell Hole they came from. GOD BLESS AMERICA."

0000

"Deport all of them back to the Hell Hole they came from." this bizarre creature advises.

No doubt the families of the 2,000,000 Iraqis citizens mercilessly slaughtered during the last five years as a result of the US aggression and occupation believe that what Iraq should do to US marines, troops, and mercenaries is to " deport all of them back to the Hell Hole they came from."

"GOD BLESS AMERICA." the bizarre creature commands.

God cursed it when God sent this bizarre creature to "America."

"Excellent job by the U.S Coast Guard," this bizarre creature exclaims.

The Guard returns some Dominicans, capsizes all Haitians and hands most Cubans a green card and $20,000 year in rent subsidies, food stamps, energy allowances, job training financial assistance, along with free medical and dental care.

Good one Jander. US is all imigrants. They took the actual people who lived on the land and put them on reservations. They actually speak broken English here. I love America. I love the Dominican Republic too. One day the country will be exceptional. They started like every other country when they went to Capitalism. Once they police the hell out of everyone it should turn out OK. Just have to pay the cops what they need to actually do their job. And of course police them too. You can't trust anyone right?

Perhaps with a different reason to escape. But immigrants none the less. I understand where they are coming from. People go back to DR and fill everyone there with these illusions of grandeur. Meanwhile all the crap they have is because they either borrow it or just rent out a room to live in and don't do anything but work and go home just to spend it all on a visit to DR and play the role of P Diddy. What can we expect. I wish people there would realize the resources they can actually put to use there. Agriculture mostly. Just wish they would open their eyes and see the beauty I do when I go there.

jtava, i have not seen so much truth said in such a short paragraph in a long time. people go to the USA and work like dogs for little and nothing, live in buildings controlled by drug dealers, toiling 14 hours per day driving cabs, in certain cases. they save for two years to come back on vacation, to show how great they are living in new york. they lean against a mercedes benz, have their pictures taken, and then show Tio Jose in Jarabacoa their ¨ride¨.the same goes for pictures of some park avenue apartment building, meanwhile they are living in a basement in Soundview. locals back here get the impression that the streets of new york are lined with gold, and you can catch 100 dollar bills with a net. they sell everything they have to go to new york, only to live the american misery; the american dream minus the money! my advice; stay here. as bad as it gets, it gets worse if you go to the usa without an education an the ability to speak english.if you do, then you will learn

Well, In that case it's me. I'm 23 years old, single. I'm currently "wanting" to go to NY for a couple of months next year. With fun I meant cinema, cafe's, dining out. I know that can vary a lot, specially if one chooses the "chic" places, but what I mean is nothing fancy, and not all days, weekends and so.

There are many things that you can do for fun for practically nothing. One of them is take out music (for 3 wks) or movies on dvd (for 1wk and renew them up to 5wks) movies that came out last year, If the library does not have it you can ask the librarian to buy it. Its paid with tax dollars, you dont pay anything. Yes free.
You can go to the zoo on wednesdays for free. The museums are on a donation basis, that is if you want to donate 1 dollar for the entrance, you pay a dollar for the entrance (this does not include special exhibits).
You can see concerts at the park for free, the listing is emailed to you for free on any kind of music you want to hear. Yes, its true.

Can you survive on 1000 more than likely if you spend it wisely... (cheesy but true).

Well I don't have a specific date, I'm still evaluating if It's possible within my budget. Many people have told me I'd struggle too much with rent + US$ 1,000 in expenses, and a few tell me I'd be alright If I administer it correctly.

I'm glad to know that there's stuff you can do without spending too much or nothing. Here in Santo Domingo going out means spending money (and quite a lot).

What attracts me about NY is it's diversity, both in people, culture and things to do. I was there on vacations, but I'd like to be able to live there for 6 months or a whole year.

Anyway DaniDr, if you know your way around you can go to a disco/club that caters to white collar workers. the attraction is a cheap to no fee entrance for a few hours, free buffett and one drink after that is up to you, sometimes they may throw in a comedian or entertainer on the other side of the disco( usually the english side). On the spanish side music galore.
These offers work really well when you are on a budget.

an interesting, but sage observation, Goulet. as for DaniDr, if you want to live in manhattan on 1000 usd per month, the first thing you need to know is that you cannot own a car. you will need half of that thousand just to park it. if you choose to park it on the street, you will need more than that for fines and tow-away fees. not to mention repairs, as you will get hit three times a month. add to that the cost of replacing the stereo and dashboard every two months( in the event you need to have sounds in your car). add the occasional 50 dollar fine for expired parking meter, parking too close to a hydrant, too close to the crosswalk, too close to the intersection, too close to the stop sign...you get the picture.toss into that a red light ticket every now and again, and the dreaded" Passing the schoolbus with the flashing red lights", which will get you a 250.00 fine. and, lest i forget, the dreaded" blowing your horn for no apparent emergency" that one is a mere 250.00

Dreadlocks, I totally agree with you. Anyways, a car in NY seems more like a headache than a commodity, specially with such a good transportation system. NYCDR, you do not know whether or not the bill was forwarded. DaniDr refers to the occupants of the car as ¨we¨, so the reader does not know who rented the car. maybe it was not Dani; maybe the person who rented the car was charged and just did not mention it. in any case, if you go into the EZ pass lane, you are getting a fine. not because they wave you through means they pardoned you. the fine will show up a month or so down the road. every car that passes through the lane has to pay. if you do not have a current pass in the car, it automatically triggers the camera.this arrangement is to avoid corruption on the part of the toll takers.there is no discretion allowed. you can fight the summons in court, but you are going to get it first!
