Santo Domingo .- For the second straight year Dominicans awarded the tobacco giant Leon Jimenes Group as the best company to work for of the list published annually by the financial magazine Mercado.
The group heads a selection of the 70 most important and recognized companies in the country, chosen through a survey that includes responses from professionals.
The Dominican National Brewery, of the same Group, came in second in the poll, and last year was also one of the most voted in the ranking.
Mercado said Leon Jimenes has "a close communication with its workforce," whereas the Brewery boasts leadership, profitability and market share.

perhaps you would want to explain why they don't deserve the market share,
they have worked hard at that, I know most of them and they are decent people,
trouble is they are too powerful and in the eye of everybody who want more,
and they cannot satisfy everybody.
Also know lots of people who worked for them and never express any ill feelings
personally to the Leon family.
As expected it was refused...
He means the same people, as in the "same people" that own Brahma and sell it in the DR...
Even when Brahma is a solid seller in the DR, the lion's market share of beer in the DR still falls into the DR brands...
Brahma will soon join Heineken, Carlsberg and many others that made their name initially in the DR but won't topple the king of Quiskeya...
it happens, they as a family have been wise enough to associate themselves with
companies that represent solid products,
Marlboro was a name by itself when they got the association with Philip Morris, at the time one of the biggest companies in US, and their main competition was Compañia Anonima Tabacalera, state run and awfully administered plus a terrible product, CAT was used primarily as political positions with people who had little idea about their job.,
Then came the oportunity to buy and they had the money for it, a super product as Presidente beer, who already is an international success, more over in our country, and an top class
product.
Competition, from whoever comes, must work dilligently and with great products to beat that
economic empire.
