SANTO DOMINGO. -  The Dominican antinarcotics agency (DNCD) today announced arrests of military and civilians whose ring made it easy for drug traffickers to take narcotics through Las Americas International Airport (AILA), and undocumented people to travel to the United States and Europe.

It said the network’s ringleader, Army sergeant Abbi Junior Delgado Capellan, of the Airport Security Corp (CESA), has implicated as accomplices senior officers assigned to the Immigration Agency.

"This gentleman is a key part of this ring and acted as if he were a general. The names of the officers are in the hands the Santo Domingo Province Prosecutor to proceed in consequence,” said DNCD president Rafael Ramirez.

The official said an Instruction judge sent Delgado Capellan to jail last night, until the Justice Ministry to concludes the investigation and leads to the arrest of all those involved in this organization, "with links to drug trafficking, and with people and money trafficking."

The DNCD report also links the suspects to the traffic of guns and medicines, and that the group also has connections abroad. It said the undocumented people were flown out of AILA and Isabela airports.

"This was one of the cases which I personally referred to recently. It was thought it was an invention, but it’s not so, as everything has its time. There are others which that we are going to divulge in a few days,” Ramirez said.

Employees of at least at least three airlines were also mentioned as accomplices, one of which flew the passengers to different parts of the Caribbean and the rest to Europe, especially to Spain and Germany, always according to the probe, still unfolding.

I thought there was a notice that RD crime & corruption was down? Que paso?

Well, one thing is for sure & that is ... the more you dig; the more dirt turns up in high places & with officials. These drugs are those seized by DNCD agents but recycled into the supply pipeline. Despite the intercepted airdrops the drug pipeline still remains strong!

My prayer is that the US DEA & FBI get wise to RD practices that RD officials & criminals are partners! This is from the top officials (in denail) down to the micro-traffickers of Los Platanitos (Ensanche Caonabo) in Santiago who never goto jail for using kids as drug mules.

There's an anti-corrupiton agency but the RD Gov fails to give it any absolute authority so it is just a lame duck used for show.

Wait, didn't we just have another inside job earlier this year with the POP & JFK airports where DNCD agents assisted criminals. Since the judges are so corrupt there's no real example set for crime & punishment.

Incredibl
