SANTO DOMINGO. – The ruling PLD party’s spokesman in the Chamber of Deputies, Alejandro Montas, said Sunday it’s “imminent" the firing of the members of the Accounts Chamber (CC), entity in charge of auditing the Government’s transactions. “The resignation of the plenary would be an honorable exit so its members avoid those proceedings (dismissal)."

The Lower Chamber investigates a recent internal conflict arisen in the CC, when seven of its nine members denounced alleged irregularities by its president, Andres Terrero.

Firing as in you loose your job but you get to keep the money? In many places in Asia and Middle East you do get punished by death if found to be guilty of corruption, so literaly they get 'Fired', but with a gun.

Even if they do get fired from the Chamber of Deputies they will just get reassigned to a low-profile, but equally cushy job.
