SANTO DOMINGO. - Several National District and the Santo Domingo Province community, popular and social organizations, pickets in hands and chanting slogans demanded the immediate resignation of the Accounts Chamber’s (CC) judges.

The protest took place in the CC headquarters Monday noon, just hours after the beleaguered entity’s president Andres Terrero affirmed “I did nothing wrong.”

Popular Organizations Board National coordinator Ramon Morrelio Ramirez said the CC’s judges failed to the country and the Senate, because those judges “discredited themselves.”

Ramirez said the judges lost credibility from the moment they began this tenure when they announced an austerity plan and instead unilaterally increased their salary disproportionately.

He said the organizations which represent the feelings of the country’s poorest communities want to put an end to the culture of impunity.

It is a very sad truth indeed. For him, Mr. Andres Terrero ( and them), "they have done nothing wrong". That is the problem, with almost all the Politicos. In their eyes, they are entitled to do as they please and be accountable to no one. That is a cultural disfunction amongst the group in general. Same illness that befalls Dra. Alejandrina German and Fleucho Jimenez . Leonel is smart and will stay above this mess and claim it is not "his problem". The sad fact is, the people too will not hold him (LF) accountable for being the Captain of the Ship. The Buck/Peso stops on level under LF.

I agree with you Juango. The problem lies in the culture. The political scenarios that we read in a daily basis are just the images reflecting from our culture.

This is a struggle between middle class clerks and corrupt elements of the ruling bourgeoisie.

Clerks hinted that they may rat on some of the corrupt bourgeois.

The mass of bourgeois replied that they will throw the clerks' asses out of their jobs and, also, that the clerks are as corrupt as or even more corrupt than the bourgeois.

Then the clerks began fighting amongst themselves, screaming "You should have kept your big mouth shut."

Now, the bourgeois have mobilized tiny elements of reactionary proletarians and middle class lackeys looking for jobs, who are congenitally servile to the bourgeois, to enter fray in opposition to the clerks, shouting "Get out of the job, you ain't no good. The bourgeois don't support you no more."

What will happen next?

Neither God nor the Nazarene knows.

I agree with you Juango. The problem lies in the culture or the fact that NO dominican authority has culture.

"Belial: I hope that you will accept this comment with all the mailice and ill will with which it is intended:"

oooo

Well, we mustn't talk about a row between middle class and bourgeois elements, must we?

Juanb, please, don't worry.

The middle class (your class) is a long, ugly tail attached to the behind of the bourgeoisie.

As a rule, perfect harmony exists between the tail and the rear that the tail dangles from.

But from time to time, there are tensions between the tail and the behind, but you must always remember that you and the class to which you belong are firmly attached to the stinking and filthy rear of the bourgeoisie.

So, don't fret about becoming lost or separated from the bourgeois behind.
