SANTO DOMINGO.- The head of the United States Army Southern Command yesterday said its collaboration with the Dominican Armed Forces will be expanded to fight the trafficking of drugs, guns and illegal immigrants.
General Keith M. Huber announced the U.S.’ commitment to fight those and other threats which the region’s countries face. " We’re available now and in the future taking any opportunity to be at your side during the multidimensional threats, natural disasters and against illicit traffic; we’re here, we’re families to protect innocents and our peoples."
Huber made his statements during a visit with Dominican Armed Forces minister general Ramon Aquino.

So? whinny kid just got a does of reality.
Amoung the advantages could be mobile AC&W radar nets, deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles for surveillance and interception of incoming "unknown traffic", both by air and by sea.
The Southern Command has a lot of equipment at it's disposal, and is capable of transporting such quickly to anyplace in the Caribbean Basin should the need arise.
It would behoove the Dominican Authorities to study their needs and make the requests for assistance ASAP if they are sincere in combatting the incoming Druggies.

That is good help after a bad storm.
Ironically the system is set up to help other nations in the Americas better than New
Orleans, but that is what exists.
Close relations with South Com is good, it won't hurt and can be a big help if needed.
How so? Plenty of food there thanks to Robert Byrd.
