SANTO DOMINGO.- The opposition PRD party’s political commission last night
decided to study all situations that arise in the country, including those
which involve the Government, but accepted possible designations in some high-paying
positions.
At the end of a meeting, PRD president Ramon Alburquerque characterized the
party’s opposition as useful, constructive and of dialogue with the people and
its institutions, though clarified that he’s not speaking of a "face to
face" negotiation with the Government.
He said they won’t seek positions in the legislative chambers’ leadership
nor in the Accounts Chamber.
However Alburquerque revealed that a letter will be sent to President Leonel
Fernandez to request the PRD’s quota in the designation of the 20 deputies
who’ll represent the country in the Central American Parliament (Parlance), an
entity often criticized as useless and a source of cronyism with its high
salaries.
