Santo Domingo.– The Comptroller General and the National Treasury will create a commission to temporarily run the Chamber of Accounts, President Leonel Fernandez announced.

The Chamber of Accounts, the government body in charge of auditing government departments, was left without management when eight of its nine presiding members resigned before the Senate dismissed them and only one awaited the final verdict.

Well I would guess his net worth just went from 600,000,000.00 to 2,000,000,000.00. Damn I can't even count that high.

Even stinking bourgeois slime were squealing about the pain they felt from ever rising gas prices resulting from oil speculation.

LF was one of the few who stood up for them, demanding regulation of oil speculators.

Now, unbelievably, the stinking bourgeois slime sees temporary relief from rising oil prices.

Why doesn't the bourgeois slime give LF some of the credit for the very temorary moderation in oil prices?

This posibility leaves me speechless.

That the Dominican populace will allow this is unforgivable. The Dominicans got exactly what they deserve in this slimy leader. the Dominicans voted for him and they got him.

Leonel Fernandez is taking Dominican Republic to a "Atomic" end with his nearsighted thinking and his weak president behavior.

The Chamber of Accounts, has never really function well, the entire system is corrupt and Leonel has now the opportunity to go after some of all the corrupted secretaries running his government.
I don't think he wants more money after the kick-back from the Brazilian-Tucano airplanes purchases and the "MEGA-OBRA" called the "Santo Domingo's Metro". !Subete al progreso"!

I like the fact that D.R. has a train and the food it taste good . But sad to say the president needs to try to cut checks (on the food crissis?) People tell me that way back when adults in the D.R. where kids use to eat three times a day . now it's only one . That is not healthy for the brain.

Not defending LF for all the decisions he has made. But we are forgetting that the government consist of a representative congress consisting of parties having their own interest in mind and not the interest of their constituency, because their is no constituency. Every presidential decision involves a sacrifice or opportunity cost. What is that cost? Unless you are a cabinet or congressional member of the Dominican Government you don't know. I think his major drawback in his presidency has been his inability to eradicate, crush and stomp out corruption which is the single biggest detriment to real advancement in the DR.

If we as citizens feel that we could do a much better job then we who are capable should aspire to do so by diverting our energies in changing Dom Rep instead of wasteful and inefficient complaining.
