SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Government congratulated the Colombian authorities Wednesday, for the rescue of the Colombian-French citizen Ingrid Betancourt, in an operation in which 14 other hostages were rescued.

“We sent our congratulations to the government headed by president Alvaro Uribe for his persistent effort so the citizen Betacourt recovered her freedom,” said a statement issued by the Presdidency’s Press Office Thursday.

“It fills us with rejoicing to know that Mrs. Betacourt, three North American citizens and 11 other Colombians are once again free, to be reunited with their relatives and close friends,” the Government statement said.

At this point, Uribe could claim the title of "President for life" if he wanted, given the popularity boost that he'll receive out of this.

The Bogota regime of drug lords and genocide won another important victory to extend its streak of scores in recent months. But this is not the first time that FARC has fought its way thourgh tough times.

As for the escaped or resued or released prisoners of war in FARC's custody, revolutionaries note that slobbering sentimentalists, including pious bourgeois liberals, who so joyful now and so gushing now with love for POWs don't extend their slobbering to the Colombian prisoners of war held by the Bogota regime of genocide and drug dealing and by the US bourgeois dictatorship under Bush.

FARC wanted to exhange this celebrated French-Colombia lady; the object of abject slobbering.

But Uribe stole her, leaving nothing in exchange.

Clever fellow Uribe.

At least, FARC finally got rid of her. She is unbearably repulsive.

Now, Paris and Bogota will have to put up with her fits and arrogance.

The bourgeois Bogota regime either tortures to dealth or shoots most of its POWs. This is one reason why the US Congress refuses to ratify the FTA. The bourgeois regime in Bogota, trained in the use of terrorism by the US imperialists, exterminates more than POWs. There is evidence of genocide against journalists, trade unions, teachers, and leaders of social movements.

The bourgeois slime who gushes with love over this French-Colombian lady or celebrity beholds the tens of thousands of Colombian people that the bourgeois Bogata regime slaughters with exquisite indifference.

P.S. On a personal level belial, I have one question. How does it feel to be thought of and treated like the village idiot ( which you certainly are) by all the posters here?

If I had to guess ahead of time your answer will contain 3 bourgeois, 2 tributes to Cuba, 3 imperialists, and no intelligent thought whatsoever.

Bourgeois flunkies gush also over the release of the three US spies.

These imperialist spies play a big role in the genocide that bourgeois Bogota regime and the US imperialists jointly commit in Colombia.

As long as US spies are killing the 500,000 Colombian people no matter how innocent the victims are of dirty US lies, like the 2,000,000 Iraqi citizens slaughtered in 5 years as a result dirty US lies about WMDs and 9/11, bourgeoisie and bourgeois-oriented middle class plunge into a profound boredom or slumber.

When US cappie press shouts occasionally "Wake up, you worthless dogs who sleep during you own slaughters of innocent people." The bourgeoisie and bourgeois-oriented middle class instantly awake, gushing with "righteous" indignation and "compassion." The bourgeoisie and bourgeois-oriented middle class will even shed tears if the US cappie press commands them. Suddenly, the cappie press says "That's all." They go to sleep again and the slaughter quietly resumes.

"P.S. On a personal level belial, I have one question. How does it feel to be thought of and treated like the village idiot ( which you certainly are) by all the posters here?"

oooo

You're too scatterbrain to stay on topic, huh?

OK, let's float around a little.

Clearly, Juanb, you have no self-esteem; thus, you can't speak for yourself, because you know you're worthless, for the words of the worthless are also worthless like their source.

So, you look around, find somebody else and speak for them rather than for your worthless self.

And, just look what you've found to speak for ... " all the posters here."

Juanb, you must be hard up with extremely low self-esteem.

Can't you find somebody better to speak for than "all the posters here?"

To speak for only ... " all the posters here" ... affirms a greater degree of worthlessness in you than expected and estimated.

As treatment for you, I advise a song by the Staple Singers "RESPECT YOURSELF."

I think she's had some time to change her opinion about the FARC, I think she will wait a little, then move back to France permanetly. Based on nothing but history, I'm willing to bet at least one of the three Americans works for the "company".

Welcome home!!! It brings such joy to hear that you've returned home to your loved ones as well as the three american soldiers, and the less known hostages. Colombia would be the best country in L.A. if FARCS & the likes put down their arms and let teh beautiful people of Colombia live in peace. I'll be going to you soon to visit ..Que viva Colombia!!!! Uribe is president for life...He has some how become the savior of Colombia..

Come on people do you think it's easy running a multi billion dollar narcotics empire from some shipping container on an andean mountain side ? If your going to make an ommelet you HAVE to break a few eggs...right ? Aside frome their unholy alliance with Chavez at least the FARC are keeping up the plentiful flow of affordable high quality "peruvian snow" come on honestly who doesn't just love a big pile of blow and a few 19 year old dancing girls every now and then to break up the monotony...Eh maybe that's just me ....but I like it ;)

I was hearing BBC yesterday and a colombian moderate suggested that if you wish to stop coca plantation than its best to help coca farmers plant other roducts and encourage its production...

The solution taken in Plan Colombia choose to murder these people rather than work with them against the FARC

He's got a point

I knew Uride Receives money form the U.S. But I did not know it was 5 billion to fight the FARC. That’s a lot of money.

An interesting report out today (English version here) by the Spanish news agency EFE that points out Fidel's "Reflections" columns are no longer running in Cuba's official Communist Party newspaper, Granma, which has hosted them for almost two years. Fidel's observations are on the web for foreigners and people with Internet access, which pretty much shuts out most Cubans.

Is it a sign that trouble is brewing between Raul and Fidel? Or perhaps even Raul couldn't stand reading his brother's diatribes any longer.

Welcome back Ms. Betancourt!!! I was so pleased when I heard the news. Uribe is definitely going to get a huge popularity boost and there are perhaps many doubters that have reformed after hearing of this update. Great job to the Colombian Army.

Ignorance is taken hold of people, now the credits will fall upon a men thats an assassin and dstroyer of life. Sometime in the future the truth will come forward for things arer not entirely as they seem to be or as the press is presenting them. The liberation of those people was brought about by people that are not of colombian decent but these people will fall into the shadow for now. There is tradition in Colombian politics, whose politicians for the most part in the majority are corrupted and allways placing blame outside of themselves for example, the para-military were and are an entity that operates with the consent of the government but everyone likes to forget that. Its easy to bring accusations to the FARC but one thing is not mentioned -- if they are so evil why did'nt they just executed them, they were made bad enough to do just that but they did not. They are a true revolutionary organization not like the colombian government that kills and faces no justice.

Ignorance. --- Its not that I agree with the FARC cause they are just as destructive as anyone else but now the colombian government wants to present itself as a victim who is acting in self-defense. They are not good government as a matter of fact they are liers and any other government that supports them are supporting their lies. No one likes the true but I'm sure that Betancourt will one day speak about the role of the colombian government throghout her captivity or she will fall victim to her own self. Now it will be the colombian government that will negotiate with her to keep her silent. Want to know more then get out of your ignorance -- out of the blind fold that you are being placed in.
