I thought the DR wanted to get rid of ills of the past in its administration. The hell with clientelism and the spoils system! That only leads to corruption and the wrong people doing the wrong job, so inefficiency and ineffectiveness. When will the DR government learn? Almost all public officials should be appointed based on their capacity, not based on whom they voted for. Only the head of the public organizations should be appointed politically, for example a minister or a secretary of state, but the employees of the different departments (the administration) should be professional and kept separate from politics.

However I thank providence that after over two centuries the "all men are created equal" that was mouthed by the founders of the US is starting to really look like it is felt and demanded by the population.
