like a good child, we listen to our uncle sam. If Belial is a commie stooge, what are we who blindly follow the US, the country that invaded us and still manages much of our affairs? Like I've said in the past, the U.S. is only looking out for its own interests. If that means screwing over the whole world, so be it.
With that said, I'm not advocating to disengage with the U.S., but rather think more independently for what is better not only for the DR but for Latin America and other developing countries. Are we equal partners, or just children taking orders? Are our concerns as heeded as the U.S.'s? I think that they should.

Thata way you can demonstrate your support PHYSICALLY the concepts you are so enamoured with.
You might occasionally admit that that system is ALSO guilty of committing the same "imperialist acts" that you are so fond of accusing the USA of committing.
Read you damn HISTORY BOOKS and lie your way out of that truth.

"Like a good child, we listen to our uncle sam," Baldoria says tongue-in-cheek.
oooo
Your uncle is bankrupt, both the private and state sectors. He's concerned only about his own survival.
Baldoria, I must commend your expression of judicious judgment, something that is rarely witnessed in this forum from any of the regular participants.
It is a given that as the Republic's protective food tariffs are phased out under CAFTA over the next few years, heavily subsidized US food exports to the DR will first weaken and then switch to imperialists hands the huge agricultural base of the Republic, a process similar what has happened in Mexico under NAFTA, where over 1,000,000 Mexican farmers who were once highly productive under pre-NAFTA conditions have lost their land and, driven by starvation, to swim the river and climb the wall that separates Mexico and the USA.
Once imperialists control the mass of the arable land, their cheap US food exports vanish.
Written by: Belial, 6 Aug 2008 11:54 AM
From: United States, Texas
p. 2 or 2
The phasing-out period for DR's protective food tariffs that CAFTA allows is supposed to give DR farmers a chance to become more "efficient," "modern" and "competitive" so that they can withstand the introduction of super-subsidized US food exports.
A farce, if there ever was one.
In Mexico, the best arable land have largely fallen into imperialist hands and those of the reactionary sector of the Mexican bourgeoisie which grow cash crops for export or allow the land to lie fallow, producing terrible inflation of food prices for domestic consumption.
As the US imperialists concentrate foreign agricultural capital in their hands, they naturally prepare, train, pay [senior officers], and equip the armed forces of satellite countries to repress savagely the masses who will eventually discover that their alternatives are either to sneak into USA and look for work to send remittances home or rebel against imperialist exploitation of their countries.

Lamentably, my comment has been misunderstood or understood narrowly.
The comment doesn't say nor was it meant to say that the above-mentioned imperialist attacks and aggressions will be solely or mostly against third countries.
True, the US imperialists will not overlook third countries.
But, the US imperialists seek control of the DR military and police to repress Dominicans, not the peoples of third countries.
Conversely, the imperialists ... before and since FARC ... exercise hegemony of the Colombian military and police to repress Colombians, not Dominicans.
Again, if an opportunity arises to use the armed forces of satellite countries to repress a third country, say Haiti in 2004-2006, the imperialists will gleefully use them.

Two things about this.
First, concerned about its Petrocaribe quota, the DR may not cooperate with this imperialist plot. For the DR will never get anything even close to the Petrocaribe terms, if Venezuelan oil returns to imperialist control.
Second, since this winter may be cold one for low-income people of the USA, since crude sells for over $100 a barrel, and since Citgo sells heating oil to low-income US citizens at a 40% discount, millions of US people pray that US imperialists, who rule and oppress them, will defer their foul attacks and bestial aggressions against the Bolivarian Republic until after the winter passes.

The US military advisors in DR are largely talent spotters.
Dominican prospects who show real promise and devotion to the interests of US imperialism will be sent to institution known all over the world as THE SCHOOL OF THE AMERICAS.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_of_the_americasAt the US imperialist-operated School, students study basic torture, intermediate torture, and advanced torture.
Then they go on to study the three levels of genocide.
If the students complete the course with flying colors, they get a life-long debit card on a Miami bank which they can access from any ATM in the DR until an civil emergency arises when imperialists will call upon the former stucents to apply the principles they studied at the School.
Worldwide, there over 250,000 graduates. Many are today practicing their profession in Iraq as mercenaries.

Chavez is the only president in the western hemisphere who is subject to presidential recall or removal from office by the will of the people.
In Aug. 2004, the people of Venezuela exercised their unique right of presidential recall and chose to keep Chavez in power.
No other head of state on this side of the world dares to vest such power in the hands of the people. No other has this degree of accountability to the people who elected them.
In other countries, where the president can be legally removed before the end of his term of office, it can only be done constitutionally by the legislature, not the people.
Chavez is the least dictatorial of all heads of state on this side of the earth.
If the US people had the power to recall the president, Bush, the mad cowboy, [not that he was ever elected president of the USA] would be falling down beside the rest of his mad cows.

Because if you did you would know communism is brought about by socialism which is an ECONOMIC policy and has absolutely nothing to do with the way in which a government is run and/or the people's freedom or lack thereof. It just HAPPENS to be that some of the so called "socialist" countries that we have seen in the past such as the USSR, PRofChina, N Korea etc.. have happened to be lacking in freedom in the same way that HUNDREDS of capitalist regimes have have lacked freedom i.e. Trujillo. From: United States, Washington
Right... I agree that the USSR and other Communist countries had HUGE problems - but were these countries truly socialist? that's another story. The fact that there are a myriad number of problems in communist countries, does not make Kism the right choice. It's not an "either-or" choice. We can strive for & deserve more. We can't stop pushing for change b/c we can say or buy anything... b/c the truth of the matter is, HOW EFFECTIVE ARE THESE FREEDOMS? Everyone can criticize the G, but are these voices heard? anyone can go eat at The Asador de Antonio- an exquisite stakehouse here in Sto Dgo- but can they really? How can a worker who earns $10000/month, to go spend $5000 on a meal? Is that true freedom?
We need to continuously pushed for a more equal society - not communism, maybe not Socialism (which are 2 different things)- but a more just and transparent society that proactively takes from the rich and gives to the poor, so that the rich don't get too far ahead of the poor.

I know of not one single School District in the USA which allocates more funds to its schools in affluent districts than it does poorer ones. In fact it is usually the other way around. The Poorer schools get more money and attention.
I live in a area that is considered affluent. the 2 Public Elementary Schools are considered the best in the county yet their budgets are almost 1/2 of many innner city schools in the same district.
The schools in our area aren't better because of money or the Teachers. They are better because of Parent Involvement. The 2 schools have the highest amount of parental partiipation in the county. The inner city schools have the lowest.

AnthonyC, I can attest first hand of the inequality in elementary schools, middle schools and high school. Just compare the services you get in P.S.84 in brooklyn, and the Public Elementary school in Swarthmore, PA. If you just call and ask about the science program or the foreign language program, you'll get an idea of the inequality. Please do so, and report back.

Aristide was sending Haitian citizens to Cuba for medical training, free training. So they can return and help there country.

They killed people fighting for a better life, for better schools for there kids and for equal rights. Yeah, terrorist attacks by the US imperialists and their flunkies against LA/C countries as well as "allied" aggressions against countries outside of the region.
0000
The above is the tiresome voice of cappie trash, pointing out its depraved preferences and expressing its degenerate dislike for good things.
Naturally, good things bore bourgeois garbage. Good things should do this to pro-imperialist filth. Whatever discomfort cappie slime suffers as a result of its undeserved exposure to good things is a matter of little, if any, consequence.
We ALL know what your agenda is, to foment unrest, hate and general disruption of free societies in the world. You direct your fallacious reasoning to the uneducated masses who really haven't the foggiest notion of what you are referring to with your rhetoric.

TB
p.1 of 2
"Like a good child, we listen to our uncle sam," Baldoria says tongue-in-cheek.
Once imperialists control the mass of the arable land, their cheap US food exports vanish.
p. 2 or 2
The phasing-out period for DR's protective food tariffs that CAFTA allows is supposed to give DR farmers a chance to become more "efficient," "modern" and "competitive" so that they can withstand the introduction of super-subsidized US food exports.
As the US imperialists concentrate foreign agricultural capital in their hands, they naturally prepare, train, pay [senior officers], and equip the armed forces of satellite countries to repress savagely the masses who will eventually discover that their alternatives are either to sneak into USA and look for work to send remittances home or rebel against imperialist exploitation of their countries.
oooo
"This is preparing to get rid of nutty hugo..." GC fantasizes.
oooo
I hope that you, GC, moved by humanitarian motives, concur on both points.
oooo
I'm too modest to mention the hole that you occupy, GC.
GC, who belongs to this "we" of yours?
oooo
TB, are you and your stupid people sure you won't be the SECOND ones eliminated?
oooo
GC II, I'm sorry that the PhDs are on your case.
But if you persist at whom [ or at who] you are, they'll will most likely leave you alone.

Splendid.
A lot of people in this forum should follow your example.

If the US people had the power to recall the president, Bush, the mad cowboy, [not that he was ever elected president of the USA] would be falling down beside the rest of his mad cows.
oooo
Aw shucks, you shouldn't say things like that unless you speak real loud.
oooo
How can even you, GC, confuse Chavez with the US financial system?
50 % alternative energies in daylight 50% other common energy resources
increase its military, and modernize it. ( secure the border, by building an effective wall across)
try to lower inflation at least 4% for consumer confidence, and bring more investors, that can bring jobs and tax money to the economy & at the same try to convince the private and public sector to create new variety of companies in the country that could invest in other growing countries like China, Brazil, Russia, Vietnam, Costa Rica, India ect..
Secure the citizens, by posting " mini police stations" at every corner possible. Organize the states services, like an effective universal insurance, effective bill payouts for electricity, water, garbage, ect. intensive laws that protects the properties, business, justice, ect.
Isn't the South Command responsible for the infamous academy that trained all those latin dictators and death squad commanders over the last few decades? Oh yea, indeed it is.

The contraband (coffee, rice and garlic), drugs, weapons, and illegals that cross the border is what is driving these training. Haiti is the source of a bulk of our problems!

You are totally off subject, your obsession with Haitian is outlandish, and when does Greenwave will say something that makes sense instead being a total mockery each time he opens his mouth.
I didn't think so.

Perhaps? or Perhaps not?
I won't open up that can of worms..
No communist country ever invaded the DR. to communist country ever required the DR to send troops to another country in order to ensure trade benefits.
And if capitalism is soooo good, why is there such huge (and growing) inequality in the DR and throughout Latin America?
If the road that you've taken has brought you to a bad end, what's so good about that road? Why not even IMAGINE the possibility of a different path - not capitalism, not communism, but rather something different from what we have. Are you so afraid of change? The only ones who should be afraid are those bloody oligarchs who continue to fleece the population. It's the Figueroa Baez & co that should fear change. Of course the dominant groups have vilify anything different that would reduce their benefits and increase those of the public...
Jeez, I wonder if people who are so complacent and happy with the status quo have visited a Batey or a barrio in any of our cities. I wonder if they've stopped to talk to our people who feel completely dis-empowered and disillusioned with life and its prospects. If they have, then please explain to me, what is so good about the status quo and the road that has brought us here.
I don't likeanchovies either , so relax.. incredible ,
But if you want to know my Grandparents defected from the Ukraine in the early 1900's so you know between them and my mother I guess communism wasn't very popular topic in our house.
If you want we can try and exume Laurenty from his grave in N.Dak and see if we can ask him why he had to flee from Russia so he and his family could enjoy religous freedom.
If you want to know more then ask anyone that is still alive I am sure they give you several reasons. Growing up during a time when we had missles pointed at each other would make anyone a little afraid. Now what were you saying..
We need to continuously pushed for a more equal society - not communism, maybe not Socialism (which are 2 different things)- but a more just and transparent society that proactively takes from the rich and gives to the poor, so that the rich don't get too far ahead of the poor.
For those of you who wish for the more individualistic society where it's either sink or swim, then I hope your job never gets outsourced and your health care goes away, your savings dwindle, and you become bankrupt.
Look at McCain-- and I know I'm going way off topic, even more than what I've gone already-- arguing that Obama will raise income taxes, when the fact is that this is the case only for those making > $200,000.
Yea! So?
What else do I pay taxes for?
They don't.

Hey primo about me. Eres muy frio conmigo
With that said, I'm not advocating to disengage with the U.S., but rather think more independently for what is better not only for the DR but for Latin America and other developing countries. Are we equal partners, or just children taking orders? Are our concerns as heeded as the U.S.'s? I think that they should."
Well said, I still can not believe that there are people so gullible to believe everything by the Empire…… If you really call your self Dominican then you would up on why we should not trust the U.S.
Here are some books that I think you should read
“Rag-Tag, Sum, Riff-Raff, and Commies”. This book will give you an insight into things,
“This is preparing to get rid of nutty Hugo...... not Raul who cares about Raul he has no oil”
There’s a treaty that the U.S. that will never invade Cuba, whether the United States up holds that any longer who knows.
For some one who is Cuban you sure to care about DR and Venezuela a lot. ? Why?

Aristide was sending Haitian citizens to Cuba for medical training, free training. So they can return and help there country.
There where a lot of reasons why the U.S. did not like what were happening in Haiti, but you know what? That’s Haiti and if that’s the way they want it that’s the way they should have it. I have said it before these people “the Elite” they don’t care about you. Live or die, rich or poor, if you have a job and a house or if you are some bum on the street. They don’t care.

Trujillo was a cruel dictator. To try to improve his world image he invited Koreans, Jews and other downtrodden people to find safe haven here.
Chavez is the dictator of a failed, violent country, where people are afraid to go out at night and murders are commonplace (much more so than anywhere else in the world). To try to improve his world image he, like Trujillo and other reviled dictators, tries to befriend a few people. Big Deal. Everyone still wants to leave Venezuela.
But then again, a lot of people would like to leave D.R. and Cuba And the U.S., they all have there reasons. What about Haiti ? that’s the U.S. at work right there! What do you think about that ?

well then you must move to Sweden then and freeze your stones and pay 60% taxes and drink 6 dollar beer
GC oh dear how smart are u - even the "poorest" in Denmark, Sweden and Norway will not freeze their stones or pussies off because we do have a system that take care of everybody and yes everybody do have the money to pay for the beer even if they buy it out of a welfare check. And yes, even if we dont like it due to our selfishness and greed, we do accept to pay 30-60% tax to receive all the benefits of our welfare system. And yes there are people taking advantage of the system, but we all agree its better to pay the prize then to shut our eyes to children and adults alike who have to search the garbage dunes - whoever accept that is a digsrace to humanity. cont.
BTW did you know there is Stone crab in the DR?
From: Denmark
chillaxin201 - I do hope more and more people have the same opinion as you and get orginized to get in power
Thank you.......... Scandi
Its so easy to read u - whenever you dont have the talent or the arguments - go for the nuts
I take moron as a compliment coming from you
BINGO! u just won your mushroom treatment
I was probably born the same way as you, but on the contrary to you I was raised to believe that even though im from a country of honey i should treat everbody as equal and praise my fortune born in this country, and care about others not that fortunate.
You can be damn sure my ancestors were the vikings - as I said earlier we have been around here for some thousand years - Am I proud? - at times yes at times no - by the way - if you are a Canadian which tribe are u? - if not you might have ancestors like me at the end
What tribe was it again?
So GC, keep on with your racist, bigoted, pro-Yankee speech it just propels those of us fighting for a better world forward! Oh and ask yourself, what type of world are you fighting for? and also, how would you be treated if you were part of the NOT privileged group?
Here's what I don't get from you GC, when someone critiques something you're for, then their "whining"; but when you critique government corruption, then it's valid analysis. Do you see a contradiction there? Plus, who named you the arbitrator of what is a valid critique and what is not? If anything, you're a supporter of a neo-con, nationalist, pro-market, anti-haitian, many times anti-dominican, anti-corruption, pro-yankee, heavy-police, anti-intellectual point of view. I hope I have that right. My point is, you're an opinionated person and far from being a judge of any argument. Just present your own, and stop insulting people. If your arguments are so solid, they'll speak for themselves and you won't have to resort to name calling, or maybe you never made it out of elementary school and that's the only way you know how to argue.
Why is it that u are so very interested in whether i am a Dane or not. I thought the issues and enlightment and arguments to maybe solve the issues are the important objectives here even though we all know its our own expression of what would correct the issue but probably none of us do have much power to do. Its more or less to let the steam out.
By the way you are quite right im not a Dane even though i know about Victor Borge and have heard about mr. Henle. I dont give a shit about either of them since i have other interest, but it funny to see how everybody else not having the same interst as u are illiterate and ignorant idiots.
You just show yourself as a person of very high selfesteem, egosentric besserwisser but im not sure your brain can back it up.

So you first Sgt. was in his 70's?
Another liar.
Whatever country your from, stop spreading hate & bad images. People like you are the ones who propagate stereotypes that causes the bad-recognition of the many. If you are canadian, why don't you go back to your Popsicle (sp?) country and stop chasing 14 year olds around the bar? We all know you expats are here sucking the all the milk and honey, and giving locals your crumbs. Then you have the audacity to say your doing something good for the country. Well, thank you but no thank you, you can now leave back to your cold fortress up north, and oppressed DOminicans from afar.
HOw does that feel? to be labeled by stereotypes?
One more thing, you spreader of filth and garbage, LEARN SOME MANNERS! From what you consistently demonstrate, you are nothing more than a bully and ignorant who relies on dirty jokes, semi-racist comments, and insults when your sophomoric points have no merit, which is most of the time if not always.
Good day to you, sir/madam.
LOL.
Oh and by the way, I've no need for your neo-con/neo-nazi points. You're just a waste of time & space. A house plant would be more valuable to the world than you, b/c instead of giving out damaging & hate-filled hot air, it gives off oxygen. So do us a favor and buy a house plant, and stop posting for a while :-) DOn't you wanna go back on vacation?
Hell's no. I never go to that debacle.
Im still a Viking by gens and beeing a oil baron as well im sure my taxpayment is enough to cover your welfare check for a year or so even if u should have veal, lagusta or camarones all day long in SD.
